I keep hearing about these Burgers. Since im headed to AZ I wanted to know what to expect.... :220v:
I heard for several years how good the White Castle burgers were. I stopped once for a few...........DOG MEAT!!!!!!! :2purples: :2purples: :2purples:

They aren't big, but they are fresh. So fresh and hot you might catch yourself licking the cheese off the wrapper. Nothing is reheated or reconstituted. They have big glass windows open to the kitchen so you can watch the workers' hustle. The dice the potatoes, and hand leaf the lettuce.
Its good eating. Double double = two meat patties two cheese slices, with grilled onions....Mmmmmmmmmm now I am hungry.

gd it you make me want to go get 1 for lunch now...
I like In and out. As far as "fast food" they are great. Like above every thing is made fresh. I admit I have licked the cheese off my fingers onces or twices. They also do not have franchises, all the stores are company owned.

Here's another tip. If you get fries with your burger, eat 'em while they're hot. The burgers are killer, but the fries don't taste as good once they've gone cold. And yes...you WILL be chewing on the wrapper to get every last bit of melted cheese. Good stuff!

I don't really dig In-n-Out Burgers. In fact, there is something about them that makes me feel barfy after I eat one. :yuk:

Everything is still made fresh to order. There are no microwaves or freezers. Customers may observe french fries being made from hand-diced, fresh, whole potatoes. And the shakes are made from real ice cream.

I like to eat it there rather than to-go. I just order it NON-animal style with fries.
quality fast food. (if there is such a thing) ;)
they just opened one up near our city just recently.

Back in the day, went down to L.A. with friends who had lived in SoCal before moving north. We were there for four-five days, and they took us on the L.A. "drive-in" tour.
They warned me in advance about the hot peppers on the counter at the original Tommy's. I had the house chili cheeseburger and skipped the peppers. Muy bueno...
I was not warned about the peppers at Pink's. They hurt more than any jalapeno I had tried to that point. The counter crew was laughing hysterically at me.
We even hit Oki-Dog. Next time i saw that place, it was on "Cops", and they were serving up a lot more than pastrami, chili, and hot dogs in the parking lot. Scary !
In and Out came to Concord looking at a site. They took a pass and built in Antioch instead. I almost considered moving...

They fresh grind their meat at each location daily,,
Last place I know of that uses fresh potatoes in their fries.
Not as good a burgers as they used to be,, but still good IMHO.
White Castle,, well,, I never understood the attraction.
They opened a location here in LA sometime back,, and it folded in about 16 months,, and rightly so. Can't stand them.
Fatburger is good too. Tommys OK, but not what it once was.
The Bobs Big Boys are nothing like they once were,, not a shadow of the quality of when the old man Bob Wian ran it.

Here in NoCal, we get Nations too.
Maybe not all the fresh ground meat and such of In-n-Out, but damn fine burger just the same. Also, Killer breakfast for the right price.
Plus, you can have pie.
In-N-Out is great, but so limited.

My burgers generally wind up burned on the outside, raw in the middle, and have a very intense Matchlight lighter fluid seasoning. I think this is why everybody drinks so much beer at my cookouts to wash out the taste. :rollside:

I really don't see what people see in In N-Out. I'm missing something.
I almost never eat at junk food joints. Maybe that's it.

In-N-Outs are hit and miss.
We have two by us, one we will never go back to again.
Has to do with the help they can hire.
The other one is excellent. I think Bre used to work there.
Tommys... Can be just as good as In-N-Out if you are in
the mood. Something to do with the late night munchies...
But you have to go to the original one or the second one in Eagle rock.
Others just don't know how to make their chili right.
The Hat, Pastrami... Can you say coronary in a wrapper. To die for and I am
sure that some have died from the artery hardening... Nothing like
a good pastrami dip...
Then you go to Pasadena and get some of the best chilli cheese fries.
Tops... small or large they are the same size, a meal in itself...
But this is only my opinion
