Ok, so, maxwedge's paint thread got me to thinking what I want to do with my boat. I'm planning on keeping the basic look it already has, but want to thin out some of the white. I have to repaint the white anyway since it pretty trashed, but all the blue gel on my boat is savable. I have an idea already and wanted to see what you guys thought.
I'm starting with this

And I came up with this

I'm looking for something old school to stay in touch with the look of the boat.
If any photoshop guru's want to take a stab at it heres a template.

I have seen several people playing around with paint ideas on the computer. What kind of program are you using to do that.
That paint idea looks pretty good for a retro scheme.
I have a '73,18' Kona tiger, that i want to repaint and would like to play around on the computer instead of hand drawing it.

I did this one on Photoshop 7. I'm still learning how to use the program so I just know enough to be dangerous. I need to get a book or something, the "just pushing buttons to see what they do" method of learning Photoshop is taking forever.

Don't know if you could download it off their site or not, but if you could you'd have to buy it. I got a copy from a friend that is the basic version. Would like to see about upgrading it.
