I have a gen V 502. I lost a motor at the end of the season. If I end up needing a crank, I'm looking at stock crank, Eagle 4340 or a Callies Dragonslayer 2 piece seal. Looking for Pros and Cons on these cranks.

Dragon Slayers are made from the same forging as all other Callies Cranks.
Also a callies will only accept a 250 long rod.
I have one for 900.00 plus shipping if you want one.
I run Eagles all the time as well. They are not machined as well as the Callies but are plenty storng up to 900 Hp or so.

Ron, didn't you have a couple of 4.375 Callies cranks?

Yes I did but their gone. I have a 4.0 I can part with. I do have a couple 4.250 but have taken deposits on engines for them.

If I were buying a new crank for a 502, I'd go with a 4.25 and end up with a 540 in the process....just my $0.02.

Gen V is a 1 piece rear seal block. You will need a crank seal adapter. We make them at Stef's. Rex Marine is a dealer for us and so is Info.

I have used Eagles in a few high HP motors with no problems. As with any part dimensional checks are required. I always buy my engine parts from good shops that pre check dimensions before shipping the product out the door. My .02 they are pretty decent for the money!

Thanks all for the info.
Infomaniac: sent me some info that sounds good. And yes if I indeed need a crank it will be a 4.250 stroke, 6.385 rods and a 4.500 bore :D as soon as I hit the lottery. Oh, thats right you have to play to win. I do need heads too so a new 502 crate may be cheaper.

I'm running a steel Eagle crank in my 502 stroker and from what the engine machine shops told me these particular cranks are notorious for being out of balance from the factory (even though Eagle states that they are in fact balanced), anyways long story short the shop that balanced it for me ended up taking 169grams out of it  :( .
