I have a 04 25' canopy Eliminator W/ 300X's I keep shearing the blades off the props . Ihave blown 6 props since June they are Merc 15X34 3- blade stock cleavers. Does anyone know the right height for theses motors. They are out on 18" stainless set backs plu 5" bobs jack plates. They have 1.75 gears right now I get 112 at 7000 RPM. I'm going to change to 1.62 hopefully it will drop about 500RPM and gain MPH. I just have to figure ou my prop problem. I might try 4- blade cleavers any help would be great thanks.

Sorry, can't help you on the props but would love to see pics of the boat. Not many Elim's with whackers out there.

My best guess is your motors are to high. I run 4 blade labbed 15X30's
The 4 blades are smoother running but you do loose some topend MPH.

How come you went to 4- blades and how much MPH did you loose.

Four blades are not always slower, but in some cases you will loose 1-3 mph on top end. The pros are they are much smoother and carry the boat better. Are your lowers turning in or out?

They are turning out. The prop shafts are about 1.75" above the bottom of the sponson directlly in frotn of the lower unit .

I might be a little confused on your wording....if you trim your motors flat , then take a straight line off the nose cone to the transom, how far up the transom is that measurement?? if thats 1.75" up that is a lot different than the bottom of the prop being 1.75" up!

If you take a straight edge from the point of the lower unit that is 1.75" above the bottom of the sponson directlly in front of the motor.

That X should be fine. High, but not too high in my mind. I had a 96 25 Daytona with 300 Pro Maxs and ran an even 2 inches up with a 12 inch transom mount. Turn your lowers in and you will see alittle better top end.

I always heard it was faster with them turning out but I'll try it. I still have 25 LBS. of water pressure do you think I should raise them up till I have about 10LBS. Why do you think I am breaking the blades any ideas.

On 3 liter motors I like to see 12-15lbs at least. How rough is the water you are running in most of the time? Loading and unloading of the motor at higher RPM with throw blades. One other strong point about the four blade merc cleavers is the blade support built into each blade. I may have some used props in the shop if you end up going to four blades.

The water is 6"-12" chop most of the time I would definitlly be interested in the 4-blades what size do you have.

What did you get better speed with why did you like them better and what props were you running 3or4 blade.

I just looked on my prop rack and found one 34x15 four blade labbed cleaver, but not for the 19 slpine shaft. I'll keep looking and keep you posted.
