First a little background...I bought a jet boat with a 460 Ford that had the top end of the motor stole off it (Intake, Carb, Distributor, Wires, Coil, Valve covers, Air cleaner)

I picked up this Mallory distributor thinking it would wire up easy in place of a stock point distributor.
It looks like a dura-spark style and I have searched (some) for wiring a 2 wire Mallory distributor and have not found much information.
My main question as well as a wiring diagram (somewhere)would be can I just wire it to a coil OR do I need a control box and what ever else??
Thanks in advance, Rick

Thanks, the water is getting cold though :)
Seriously I have time, the second job last summer took my time away from the boat for the season...I will put the boat in the water when it does finally come together and run on the garden hose(cold water or not)

Make sure you change the Rotor on that at least.

I had planned on doing a mild tune up on the motor after the first test run.
Is that the actual design of the Mallory rotor OR did someone modify it?
I had my eye on a hyfire IV box that I missed  on Ebay today...my slow computer and me getting my bid in too late...

That's the rotor's design. I might have some Hyfires (new) laying around. Not sure weather III's or IV's though. I will check and see if I can find them.
