Dan??easy job and you can get the part at most auto parts stores.

$3500
Just kidding. Everything on my camaro is at least $600. I'd guess around that. $120 to fix the button on the dash for the hatchback. $180 to replace the lock cylinder on the t-top (they used the same one, just re-installed it). Good luck.

Dan??
does it need the regulator or just the motor? you can get the motor seperate now...its cheaper that way.
Part is approx $90.
That pays about 1.5 hours labor (don't know what they get for labor out there but I'd think $90/hr give or take??)
Last I knew ArtV was writing service at a GMC dealer in your area

Just came from the chevy dealer and got NO where.(Power in Corona :yuk: )
2 questions.
1. can I put a door handle with a key on the passenger side of a 2005 Colorado?
2. Its a 4x4 so I want to disable the airbags. HOW?
thanks,
Rio
1. No
2. I cannot disable your airbags, nor will I tell you how. However, if I was gonna disable a radio, I would pull the fuse marked "radio" . There are better ways, but if you aren't careful.................... BOOM!

I’m Writing service for Infiniti. We also own a Gmc dealer. I just checked on the parts, my cost on the motor is $48.00. The Regulator comes with the motor, cost $105.00. As for the labor we may be able to work something out with one of the techs...

That's exactly what I'm looking for. 2001 Silverado 5.3L.
retail for all that is $550 approx
cleaning of the throttle body and servicing the induction system is $99
fuel filter is about $80
injection service is $99
trans flush is $150
diff service is $120 (01 uses synthetic fluid and the oil is very expensive)
obviously if I do it the HB discount would apply

It's not the money that keeps me from doing it, it is the paranoia of thinking it's not really going to get done. What dealership and city are you out of? I seem to drive everywhere for work and am sure I'd be in the area.

I recently paid about 180 bucks for a passenger-front door window motor
for the wifes astrovan........ replaced it myself. took about just under an
hour....
you'll need: drill and bit, pop rivets (3/16") and some time...........

If I was closer to you, Dan, I'd be coming to visit you every six months. Lake Chevrolet is my service facility of choice, I'm on a first name basis with the folks at the service dept. LOL, they are nice folks, though. Sandy and Paul.
Don't get me wrong I love my car, I just wish it wasn't so fragile. BTW, a pair of headlights? $600. :p

true, but I'm open to moving since the lady that kept me here has left the picture...
Now its all about paying the bills, and this store doesn't do it...
I've been at this dealer not quite 90 days, brought the RO average up .8/hr, tech training up to 88% from 52% and the gross profit up an average of 30K per month...Problem is I need to double that again before I get paid

It means putting your sticker on the back of the repair order. If you want the work done and done right, bring it to me. You know where I'm at, and I won't stick ya with the bogus induction cleaning. ;)

If I go to Selman, I get a burrito. Wait. I think we determined that no guy wants the burrito.
And that sticker thing, I think it does tell the service guys to do that vehicle right.

For example, that misfire in the boat, I would charge (flag) 1 hour for diagnosis and then I could but wouldn't have charged additional labor for the repair. Before you scream, you must realize that many and I mean MANY shops would have replace hundreds of dollars worth of parts before finding the simple problem I found. Now my $80 sounds cheap. Don't it?

Brutha, we just got our green screen ADP system put in a couple of years ago! I had to buy my own laptop and my own wireless router so I could have service info when and where I needed it. Now when GM walks through making sure we have the required number of PC's they point at mine and count it  Oh well,as long as I have what I need.

we don't "flag" per se, only enter the time in the comp. but still use a paper RO. I KNOW my guys are not ready to go paperless

Oldsquirt
11-21-2005, 07:40 PM
We've been paperless in the shop for about 4 years. I thought it was going to be impossible for a few of the older guys, but everyone has picked it up pretty fast. Only prob is we share 1 computer for 2 techs and some guys type real slow....:) All our tech info is online as well. Saves trips to the service manual "library".
K-26, I wish they would let us use our own laptops, but no go. Some BS about us "stealing" important data.
