Had a 76 Old's Cutlass Supreme 2dr w/ factory mag wheels.. Use to put 3 or 4 kids in the trunk to sneak them off campus for lunch. They hated it when I got sideways exiting campus :D
Wrecked it and got a 56 bug that I worked on for years before it left my parent's garage.
During that time I used my mom's Volvo 740 turbo wagon. Nice, Stick, limited slip, great stereo, and a ton of room to transport kids to the beach @ 120mph on a 2 lane Palomar Airport road...lol

I had two Ford trucks and a Dodge Challenger. The Challenger kept me busy.
I also picked up a Mercury Bobcat with a seized 2.8l V6 engine and C3 trans. I thought I could turn it into a cool little hotrod but never got around to the project and a buddy wanted it so I sold it to him cheap.

There could be a whole other thread telling of the cars...now classics I watched get bought sold and traded....and ruined by customizers......I went to HS in the 70's....and saw vettes,chevelles,camaros...Motion performance was a few miles away...chargers,challengers.....ect.......all sold for what today would be considered...peanuts......I have spent most of my adult life chasing after these cars ...lol...and paying alot more...especially mopars.....I was a Junior in HS and a friend and I looked at a cherry 440 Superbird sitting in a storage garage...dad was selling it for his son who was in the Army....$2500.00.....should have jumped on that one....lol

First car was a 1966 Chevelle SS 396 convertible. Took me from the age of 13 to do a complete frame off resto and converted it to disk brakes. Car in street trim ran through the lights at Pomona at 12.1 then I was asked to leave because I didnt' have a roll cage in the car. Sold it to buy the boat and miss the car on a daily basis. :( One of these days I will DEFINITELY have another muscle car. :)

Freshman through junior year I had a 1992 "GT" BMX bike!! that thing was cherry for the time.(Pulled alot of Wool)
Senior year I got a 1986 Honda Civic Si for 2,800 dollars.I had it for a year and a half and put 7K miles on it along with a motor,trans,clutch,CV's,Etc... That car cost me more to keep on the road then any boat I have ever owned.
Traded it in for a 1996 FSC and got a whopping $500.00 for the trade in.(Sad part was I owed $3,000 on my credit card bill for the repairs that had been done and it took me 2years to pay off)

Sophmore and junior year i drove a '86 Jaguar XJ6. Yes it was my parents, but it got me alot of play!!!
Senior year i drove a '90 Ford Thunderbird SC. Black w/ black leather, Alpie head unit w/ Legacy mids and highs with 2 15" Pyle pounders in the trunk. that got me even more play!!! Had the super regeared and pulled 16lbs of boost, 3.1 pulleys on the super, dyno'd at 556hp. Looking back not the best move for an 18 year old. 4 speeding tickets later, I wraped the car around a Chevy 2500HD and totaled both.

I saved up enough money in my sophomore year to by a '73 El Camino SS with a 454. It was kind of a pile, but it had great potential; it had swivel bucket seats, console, and of course a 454. Since I couldn't register it in my name for insurance, (I was 15), my parents registered it in their name. Well, the gas crisis hit in '79 and as a "favor" my parents took it to the Ford dealer and traded it in for me and purchased a '78 Ford Fiesta! I could have cried. A Ford, and an imported one on top of that. They said they that I would have never been able to afford to drive that El Camino with gas over 80 cents a gallon.
That Fiesta lasted a year until someone broke into it and stole the stereo, they did so much damage that the insurance company totaled the car. I went and bought another El Camino, this time a '75 with a smog choked 350. Shortly after graduating I sold it bought a 75 Cosworth Vega. I know now that anything that has Vega in the name means it's a pile of crap.

I was making $350 a week at my job in HS, that's when I said sports suck, money is better.
However, after 10k miles and I needed new tires, some to find out they were $350/tire, I traded that car in. I was always a truck guy until that car. I thought car tires were $70 each... I was wrong. :hammerhea

1970 El Camino. American Torq-Thrusts w/ Goodyear Polyglass 60's, later on
Cragar S/S w/ Radial T/A's. Had the anemic 307, but it sounded better after the Hedman headers and dual exhaust. Gabriel Strider shocks up front and Hi-Jackers out back. Looked good, sounded good - truth was it couldn't get out of its own way...
The "audio package" was the best feature. Motorola 8-track on a slide mount
underneath the factory AM radio in-dash. Pioneer 6x9's in the doors. Bad Company, Robin Trower, Deep Purple, or Led Zepplin in the deck. Tower of Power or Cold Blood when the funk was called for.
Priced one recently at the Goodguys Autumn meet in Pleasanton. Should have kept it...
I still have the t-shirt that the great "Reinero" of Santa Cruz airbrushed for me
at the San Francisco International Auto Show in 1975 or 1976. Nice work...

Grandma didn't want it anymore. Score!! Wait...
Gotta love Grandma.......mine gave me her '67 Ford Galaxie 500 4dr. Thing was so sweet. Even had the wing windows in the front doors that you had to turn a crank to open. 390 with a C-6 tranny to smoke the tires at will. Put 4 sets of 6x9's in there with 4 Coustic 2ch amps so I could blare the surf tunes. No shiat, the trunk was so big that I could fit 3 6' boards in the trunk and still close it. Many times that rig got 7 of us with 7 boards & all our gear to our secret spots.
Damn I miss that car.  Anyone know of one for sale out there....now that I'm all nostalgic I'd be a sucker for an impulse purchase. :crossx:

I had a '70 FJ40 Land Cruiser and a '73 Trans Am (Gradjamacted from HS in '75). In '74 my dad's business turned sour so I had to sell 'em and bought a '50 Studebaker pickup for 200 bucks.
Me and a buddy flared the back fenders, shot some primer on it and put 10" M&H Racemaster slicks on it. Still had the 170 CI flathead under the hood, but I could fool a lot of people while it was parked with the motor off..... :D :D Had to watch out for water puddles on the streets or it was time to hang on..... :D :D
Got some good subcontract work remodeling a few McDonald's HVAC systems about the time I graduated and bought a new 3/4 ton Suburban 4X4. Put a big roof rack on it and went hang gliding trips with my buds for a couple of years. We drove to Torrey Pines, Durango, Telluride, Flagstaff, Denver, Salt Lake City.....had a bunch of fun and lived to tell about it. :D :D

Very, very, Rusty 66 Mustang 289, then a Rusty but fast 76 Datsun280Z then a Nicer 65 Mustang with a tweaked 302. Of course all of these cars were generally in some stage of disasembly or broken, so In reality, I mostly drove my dads 1980 Buick Century four door (not a good 80MPH slalom car) or mom's 1985 Escort, which I blew up at the young age of 14,000 Miles (sorry mom, but don't you think Ford really should have put a rev limiter on it if they didn't want you doing 7000RPM burnouts?).

1970 Maverick. Was passed down thru 3 bother and sisters. By that time it had no more floor boards. Chicago winters took them out. Had it till I went in the Navy. It got me from point A to point B with out spending a dime on it. Just put plywood over the hole in the floor boards and it was good to go.

I bought a 60 El camino, 3 2's, 348 engine. Hopped up the engine and raced it at Fremont drag strip 64-67. Then got a 65 El camino, 350 ci, put paxton super charger on it and raced it to for fun. Best time 14 sec flat. Good for a street car at that time.

1972ish Ford Maverick. 3 on the tree and 6 cyl that used more oil than gas. Cloud of blue smoke behind me everywhere I went.
