View Full Version : Best Price On A Jet Rebuild Kit???

I am looking to compare a few prices for a rebuild kit. I called a shop in cali and they told me that they have american turbine full rebuild kit with an aluminum "A" impeller for $399. Thats one hell of a deal. All parts are new including impeller. That sounds killer to me. What do you guys think????

Does The Amercian Turbine Impellor Fill Up The Cavity That A Stuffer Normally Would?or Do You Have To Have The Bowl Too.

You have to have an AT bowl and impeller.

you can machine the flange off the rear of an AT impeller so that it fits into a non-AT bowl.

You have to have an AT bowl and impeller.
To run anything larger than a A2 AT impeller in a berk bowl they custom fit it to the bowl.

Not true. I did a dominator 2 months ago with an american turbine impeller and it fit like a glove;)

Did your AT impeller have a lip on the back. The At impeller we are talking about has a lip on the rear just like the wear ring surface on the front of the impeller. This lip fits inside the cavity on the bowl were a stuffer plate would go normally. The impeller and bowl fit together just like the impeller fits into the wear ring. AT also makes an impeller without this lip for use in a Berkeley bowl. Thats what you probably have. Look closely at the cut away view of the AT pump in the ad in ***boat and you can see what im talking about.

a full rebuild should include a new impeller, wear ring, gaskets and both bearings. i dont think that would buy the parts. next is the labor and correct setup. if it does, i`ve been ripped. many times too.

Because a molded (cast) part does not always fill to the extremities. Therefore an impeller core will just about always clean up and cut to a B or C. But not near as many of them will retain a full AA cut.

So how do you make it a AA. Reason i ask is i was told that impellers start out as a AA and are turned down to make them smaller.

The A2 impellers are actually cast separtly. Along with the A3 and A4.
