Just got my new registration in the mail, along with some big stickers. It says California law require these stickers be placed on the transom? it is letting people know that the water at the rear of the boat contains CM. I imagine this is for boats with thru transom exhaust?

I got a little flyer with mine that had these huge letters emphasizing quiet boating. Man, was I pissed...how presumptuous of them.

Now does this mean we can't bring our boats into CA and run them from other states without getting hasseled ???

Jim, if you had read the link that GoFastRacer posted you would have found this quote:
" Assembly Bill 2222 (Koretz) requires that a set of carbon monoxide warning stickers be placed on the transom and helm of all new and used motorized vessels sold in California beginning May 1, 2005."
My guess is that no one is going to get hasseled for it.

I am not going to put it on my boat. Just because I dont think it applies to mine.

Don I would carry them in a zip lock bag in the boat with the law and statute # just in case. And with that cool swim step you have you will need this one for sure.http://www.dbw.ca.gov/images/teakicon.jpg

California - the law makers have to think of everyone's safety. What happened to common sense of sucking in tail fumes will cause you to pass out in a yuppie tournament boat? Register in AZ - the boat stays in AZ atleast 6 months out of the year, then you're good to go. I pull up to the launch ramp in Idaho, questions about my AZ's fly. It's a long drive, but well worth it!! Idiot proof rules haven't made it this far up north yet. Maybe boating coarses for new boaters is a good idea - may decrease the amount of legislation and decals that we'll have to put on our boats. Next thing I'll know, I'll have decal that notes AVGAS causes cancer when exposed to. :rollside:

It only applies if you have bought or will buy a new or used boat- the stickers have to be on it...effective on transactions from back on May 1, 2005.
Haven't bought one since 5-1? Don't worry, be happy...
What's next out there? Altitude restrictions for wakeboarders? Sheesh.

I was just gonna say whats next, now that the carbon monoxide issue is "STICKER FIXED" how is that gonna help the situation with people dropping dead in the channel @ Havasu? does that mean that cars next will have the same stickers, they do congregate in parking lots, and parking garages, and if you think about it, its not that far fetched of a difference, than the channel?
Im beginning to dislike California...alot
