My hydro runs low 8's but it needs a little help. It's a great combination, but the cam is on the small side, question is how much bigger to go?
BBC 540, 8:1, Dart 325's, 8-71, two 750's
Cam is flat tappet, 256/260 @ 0.050, 114 separation, .600 or so lift.
I'm going solid roller, how much is too much for a blown deal in a light boat? Most all rollers I look at are 108-110 separation, should I go with a custom deal at 112-114?

I don't know if I'd go with an off the shelf cam in your situation. It's easy to reccomend a cam for your everyday jet boat or weekend lake racer V-drive, however for a blown Hydro such as yours I'd pick up the phone and make a call to either my engine builder or my favorite cam company. More likely than not you'll be ordering a custom ground cam.
From what I've gathered, blown deals don't usually run large camshafts.

Jim,
I've got a .735 lift, 114 lobe center cam that you're welcome to try.
I've gone to a .660 lift, 116 lobe center cam and am going to change to less lift yet.
What happened to the KB Hemi ?
Is she on the back burner ?
