What is different about this boat that makes it rare? Is it in some way different than all the other Papp built Cheyennes? They are very nice boats, the old ones and the new ones built by Capps.

Mike it's hard to think of yours as a (FAKE) Cheyenne(by Ultra) with the jel work done on it.It just makes it look so much diffrent.
Why did you end up going with the (Cheyenne) Ultra Shadow rather than Papps Stealth?

i went with the Ultra after making sure the mold was indeed a cheyenne mold. Ultra has taken great care of the mold. I wanted a crazy paint job and after discussing it with Tom, decided the guys at Ultra could pull it off better. I bought the bare hull and then had Tom do the bottom and watch over me as i rigged it to make sure everything was perfect. So i ended up with the best of both worlds: the gel job i wanted and the set up work from the man that know's cheyenne's better than anyone.

Mike have you seen the ones pulled from Capps mold the other( FAKE) Cheyenne. They have the bump in the deck inverted or bumped down instead of up like yours.Yours is soupose to be the first deck design and the one Capps has is the second deck design.
When I put (FAKE) like this I am being a smart a$$.In case any one wonders.

ill have to ask tom again but i think the one caps has is number 2, the ultra is number 3 and Tom's is the 4th gen cheyenne design. If bruleracer would chime in he knows the history too.

Jake

It would be nice to know what the diffrence betwine 1,2 and 3 is other than just the deck being diffrent on 2.
Jake

the decks are different on 4,3, and 2. #4 has a rounded nose. Tom says the bottoms are all just a bit different from one another. The bad copies are the ones that were splashed off race hulls that already had the dropped keel.

In other words all that sems to be diffrent is the deck part.
1 v down the center flat.
2 v down the center has a step down.
3 v down center has a step up.
I wonder what is diffrent if anything on the bottom.

he wouldnt go into detail about the bottom nor would he about dropping the keel. i believe when i asked him what we were doing his exact words were :" no picture taking, shut up and lay the glass right here." :)

I thought the airfoil was fliped over on the #4

Found an engine over there on dragboats website for your hull. It's got lots of potential but big dollars too.
Check your phone messages.

oh i think i know the engine you're talking about. peak hp @ 8,600 rpm? pretty high huh.

MikeF

Might only turn a little over 7k w/an impeller behind it though.? :boxed:

cyclone

ya but i think it wouldnt be too difficult to make the same power at a much lower rpm than that motor is.

if its the pro stock engine, the guy selling it is Robbie Racer here on the boards..That thing will get the job done no doubt, might need a gear box to go with it though. :)
