I am trying to ID the pistons in my Mark V 454 block & trying to figure out without completely removing the entire thing & striping it what is in it.
The Piston part # is 10232427 & they look like forged slugs but I sure would like to know for sure!
The block ID as a 10114182...454.......91-up...4-bolt, Gen.V And from checking on the GM performance site I think the crank is steel but not sure.
The heads look like stock Mark V as well with this info 10114156...91-up...oval...OPEN...Gen.V & VI 454, 118cc chamber. Any info on the runner volumes, flow rates & RPM range would be helpful and they have part # 14081040 exh valves that some how came up as 502 valves *VALVE, EXHAUST (1.72")& guessing that the intakes are *VALVE, INTAKE (2.07")??? Without disassembling
In case your wondering I found a little water :( in #8 so I pulled the head to investigate & found a leaking head gasket so while I'm in there I wanted to find out more info about this motor before a fall teardown.
Thanks for any info

gnarley,
just a thought, do they even make a 91 and up 454 block with a 4 bolt block that does not have a steel crank? i thought(and i could be wrong) that all 4 bolt bbc had steel cranks. who knows, i am kind of shitfaced right now.

I have a GM performance catalog from 1992 but can't find any of those numbers.
