I like that shifter. On my old Lavey it had a handle that ran up the stringer and through the center bulkhead, the way you did it is better IMO.
That boat is looking clean! I love the nostalgia and it has the best motor. :)

Wo-o-o-o-o-o-ow! Well, I'm sold. Consider the Vertex yours, ssmike. :D PM'd you details.
I also have a couple of old oem 1969 429 balancers laying around, although I can't imagine using one in a sustained rpm application. The elastometers are looking very deteriorated. I assume you want a nice aftermarket one for that build. :)

On the dampner problem. I remember a few years ago there was a company called "Dampner Dudes" that reconed dampners. I dont know if they are still around or not??? I called them once and kinda think they were in Cali?
Be good, Jim

.~Dave~Payment for the mag has been mailed via snail mail. I anticipate receiving payment today or tomorrow. I usually have a 24-hour turnaround shipping time, so I would guess you'll receive the mag in a week or less.

Part on the left will go into that motor! Note the attached Ronco factory rebuild tag; I don't think this mag has been used much since rebuild (if at all). :D

Drool....!
Oops. Sorry.
Mr. Sammons, please edumacate me on that battery. My battery box/hold down was originally set up that way, and with that size of battery, too. What are you using there? Series? Source? Curious.
Thanks!

This size battery was a standard back in the 60's, especially in ski boats due to tight fit between the motor and rear deck. Motors were moved back to accomodate 4 seats. This battery back in the day was also popular because it had good cranking amps since it was used both commercially and in tractors. I buy them at Carquest, part# bat 3EE30 and it is still described as a "Commercial and Tractor Battery" on the invoice. List was 103.64, paid 69.00 plus tax. Hope this helps

Thanks Super. The neon lights don't do the lines and fittings justice, they look REALLY good in the sun. We'll get a few shots outside when we get a little farther along.

Finally got the scoop. Still have to build 3/4" spacers to get it up off the carbs. All wiring is done, installed mag friendly keyswitch and converter for electric tach. Waiting on new mag cap to replace cracked one. Should be ready to fire!
