hey rcm, i`m just a few miles south of you in iuka, ms. i built a 496 this spring. you`ll need .250 longer than stock rods and custom pistons too. the piston pin will be moved up into the bottom ring land. i used scat brand crank and rods, je pistons. got the pistons from bullit cams in memphis. its a good combination. i`m running mine in a 10 sec. jet boat. whats your motor going in?
