A few months ago, I purchased a new 22 Daytona with a 572 cuin Quad Rotor 1100 HP with AUTRONIC EFI. The boat has been running great, but now I'm having a Problem.. The motor starts, runs, idles great, but when you get to 3000 or so rpms, it dumps fuel big time, shutting down, fouling plugs, etc. Mark in Kenner is checking it out, fuel pressure-ok, injectors-ok, injector wires-ok, comp.-ok, valve springs and settings-ok.. I even have a spare ECM which was swapped and the problem is still there. Any HELP would be appreciated.. Dustin, do you have any other ideas???? THANKS, Bye You Bandit II

I'm having the same exact motor built right now by GT Performance. He has built a bunch of these motors he would be the one to call.Who built your motor?GT's number is 909-982-8391.Ask to speak with Gary.

Use an occilliscope on the injectors to see what the pattern(s)is/are above 3000rpm.
Also check the fuel presssure regulator and return lines. Good luck!

Hey jerry, it dont look like its going to get fixed on the internet does it. Has mark given up? Maybe we should pull the engine out and you take it back to gary and tell him to fix it on the dyno. What does mark say to do now? Will be assembling my engine this weekend. Have you talked to the autronic people? I would give them a call also. Good luck and let me know if I can help. gary

Yes, would also like to know what the problem was since my motor will be done shortly.Hope I will not experience the same problem. What type of drive are you running and how has it held up under your torque and hp numbers? What speeds have you seen with your set up?I'm running a built xr with a 2 inch shorter lower unit.

sofa king smooth.........I'm running the BMAX with a 2" shorty----holding up great. With a stock 32 prop I hit 126mph (gps)----I have not had time to work with the big props, however with a reworked 26 prop, I hit 119.5mph (gps)----Gets it quick too.

banditII - If its efi, have the mechanic check the vst-vapor separator tank-i believe thats what its called- just before the fuel goes thru the injectors. I had the same problem and just replaced a couple filters in there and all is better. worth a try... good luck
