Hey everyone it is Hot Rod Hallett. I wanted to get some opions on Dimarco Boats. I am looking at a 21 Dimarco cruiser V-drive that was posted here a few months back. It is baby blue on dark blue and has a 427 with a Turbo 400, freshened Casale with an 11x15 three blade. The boat is a '77 and has an Ellis dual axle trailer under it and appears to be pretty clean. The owner is asking 15,500. If anyone can repost the pics that would be cool. The thread was posted a few months back. Oh and if you can include your opions that would be great. I have experience with Spectras and Howards and Schiadas but do not know much about these old Dimarco's.
Thanks Hot Rod hallett

That's the boat. Called the guy last night and got all the info. Sounds real nice and looks clean in photos. Is it worth 15,500? Kind of a bad time of year to sell a boat. I would need to sell my Hallett first to get it.

I just bought a 77 dimarco,454,280 volvo drive.have taken it out 3 times.its pretty cool.probably 65 mph.it gets crazy when at rpm with torque-steer,but Im working on that.I traded an old sea ray plus 5 grand for the boat.It needed a carb and still needs interior which looks like it is original.any thoughts or info on these boats would be weclocomed.I didnt know anything about them when i bought it so now I am learing about them.

Looks like he wants top $ for an OK boat. Interior is weak. hows the gel over the wood grain. Di Marcos are great. Rumor has it that Sonny had one of those in his garage, never had a hole drilled in it.

Badblown572 will build you a brand new one. He brought one by the other day. Looks alot nice in person then the cell phone pics I'd seen before.
He has the Howard mold with the updated deck.

That looks like the boat once owned by a family named Kennedy out in the SFV. It had a Banks single carb, twin turbo deal, with a T400 and 29's in the box. I got it running trouble free and maintained it for them, 4 or 5 years and then I moved away. If it is the same boat, they really took good care of it. Indoor stored, always clean and ready to go.

We did a lot of work on that boat when the current owners (Dimarcobros) first bought it. They did not cut any corners. I can look up what was all done if you are interested.

I've owned mine since new 1977. Great boat. Bottom is a Spectra, top is a Dimarco. The dash was moved forward 18" from what the Howard had and is a little wider also. Mine was originally a twin turboed 468 BBC. @ 15# boost, wastegates, etc. Over 100mph easily. I am currently redoing it so I must still like it. Have capped the deck, added 4' to the center strakes, balsa floors and transom, new gel coat. Power will be twin turbo 600" BBC EFI motor, casale 10* split with whirlaway, turbo 400. Want to run the Parker 300 and give the wacckers a race.

This belongs to Dimarco21 on the boards. This is a beautiful boat. Look him up on here. He could probably shed some light on these also.
