I like how they have countries mixed in with US cities. Is that graph out of some kid's 8th grade book report?
Nope, it's from Rush's website.

The numbers for the US cities appear to be accurate, it doesn't say what year, but looking at the fbi 2004 numbers:
http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius_04/offenses_reported/offense_tabulations/table_08.html
New Orleans had 264 murders with a population of 471,057 for a rate of 56.04 per 100000
Washington DC had 198 murders with a population of 553,523 for a rate of 35.77
Detroit had 385 muders with a population of 914,353 for a rate of 42.11
Chicago had 448 murders with a population of 2,882,746 for a rate of 15.54

Even worse.
I know you don't like the messenger, but the message?
Looks like a fair number of US cities are more dangerous to the people who live there than an actual WAR ZONE. Betcha don't see this one in the Times.
And apparently, from the above, it would appear Rush has his facts accurate, as usual.
