I'd stick with a brand name.

Personally, I prefer thicker cast aluminums for their resistance to getting bent and leaking at the seal surface. Otherwise, I think they are OK, I'm not am hugfe "solid chrome" fan.

I think they're nickle plated, but still pretty. The "Chrome" alone would cost more than the covers...............If you just put them on and leave them on, they should be OK. If you do alot of valvetrain adjustments/checking etc. I would stay away from them. BTW I've got the same ones, except they say 396, on the shelve........MP

from engs for awhile and now I get to work on my own jetboat. I see now days you don't have a oil fill on the valve covers anymore. They tell you to put oil in buy the PCV opening. Is this true? Again I'm from the old days so things are alot different today... Thanks
