Can someone explain what baffle on valve covers mean? Also Both of my valve cover have breathers on them so if I purchased new valve covers whould I have to get the ones that have breathers on both of them?
Thanks for answering the stupid question if you can answer it.....

A baffle in a valve cover is to prevent liquid oil, splashed up near the breather, from being pushed out the breather along with crankcase pressure and/or excessive blowby. If you replace the covers with new ones that have the baffles and breathers you should be OK. If you only use one breather and a PCV valve, then the breather becomes an "IN" for the vacuum to pull from to the PCV valve.... Positive Crankcase Ventilation, (PCV) can be a useful addition to help evac the pan pressures, and keep an engine from blowing oil out the breathers.
