Thermostats in a Merc 2.5 EFI

Hi!
I see im Merc part catalog for the Merc 2.5 EFI (280 hp) that the washer is a substitute for a thermotats. To be able to get proper temp at idle, would it be possible to mount thermostats in the Merc 2.5 EFI (280 hp) engines?

Not sure what you mean Toffen?
My 98 2.5 merc (225hp) has thermostats :)

Depends on your Exhaust adaptor plate, if its a one piece plate than run the 1/8 washers b/c the thermostats will be bypassed due the the size of the dump holes in the exhaust plate. The accual fix is to plug up the dump holes and re drill with a smaller size.
