I was just wondering if any one that ownes a 26 with a 496ho has got there top speed on radar or GPS. Also what was the size prop that you were using. Any info would be appreciated.

I am guessing mid to high 70's. I know one that ran 92 with a 620 teague, and I think an hp 500 will run low to mid 80's.

I'd agree with MrHC: mid to high 70's no problem. The openbow/midcabin in ***boat with the HP 500 EFI did 82.7 radar! The 496HO is only 45hp less! The openbow adds a little weight, but without it and with a 496HO, optimal conditions, you-couple gallons of gas and a life vest(obviously), it may even hit 80! But high 70's no doubt!

Sweet! Mine is a closed bow so at those speeds that will keep me happy for awhile, I hope?

Charley is right, we are always looking for more speed. I ran 104 last year on gps but was a little heavey on fuel with two people in the boat. I am playing with props now and want to run 110 this year. I can always up the boost, but I think I will leave it for now and try to dial it in. You can always add a Whipple.
