If you are not going to sell the Commander. Why don't you Sell Raffle tickets and have a drawing.I'm sure it would be easy enough to sell enough tickets.
How much do you want for the boat 45K?
90 tickets @ $500.00
180 Tickets @ $250.00
Done deal boat sold easy! Now give me a free ticket for the idea.
I'm in for another ticket for $250.00.

Sorry Daryl...I suggested that last year. I also suggested that he get his radio station involved as far as a promotional giveaway with the first monies going to Matt and then the rest going to a charity.
He has to move this damn thing now though....

This is a great idea. I think some one would bitch about a "fix" though.
A non partial person like Don King should control the raffle. lol

Actually I have thought about doing that on air here at the station. If I got more than I was asking (which is a fair price) I would give it to charity. I would have to get paid first though. :)
I was in it last night and I feel like taking it out. :D

it's really pretty simple. Tickets get issued when the amount is met and 3 or 4 days later you use the last 2 numbers (assuming 90 tickets ) of the Dow Jones Closing.
For 100+ tickets you can issue 3 digit numbers in a range up and down from the DJ and when the last 3 match you have your winner.

And I guess if enough tickets aren't issued everyone gets their money back?

In theory you should be able to find 500 people on HB willing to buy a $100.00 raffle ticket. Pay off the boat and donate the rest to a good charity like the Havasu boy and girl club. I would be in for atleast 5 tickets. It's a win win win, you get rid of your boat, someone gets a really nice boat and some kids get taken care of.

Maybe I should start a poll to see if their would be enough interest. Who could complain about winning a boat for $100? :D

Just rent it out @ $75/hr...or $1500/weekend. You'd pay that thing off in no time..and the cash keeps rolling in for a couple more summers to pay off the "E" !

I thought about that too but wouldn't you need some type of licensing and insurance for that?

Renting it out would put you at a huge liability even if you got the proper insurance. NOT worth it.
So with that being said, I'll take three tickets :rollside:

I was thinking on the way home from work what a cool idea this is. I was thinking of two hoatboaters that would be in need of the donations. CATALINASKIER and DO F150 Float....how cool would it be to able to donate the money to them!!!! Just a thought. :)

Great point!
You would think with over 8K ***boat forum members of which 30-40% are active 500 tickets @ $100.00 each would go fairly quick with a sticky thread for exposure. The profit could be split between a couple of causes.
This donation "could" be a write off for most people. ( check with your financial planner or accountant )

I will buy two tickets. I like the idea of capping it at 500 tickets or if not then the extra money going to the members that need the help right now.
Don't worry about any legal shit at this point Matt. We can do this among our group here on HB...At least I am pretty sure you can sell 500 tickets to members here.

If I do it anything over 45k would go to helping someone else so the more tickets sold, the more help someone else gets. I would think once 450 tickets are reached we would have to set a drawing date and anything sold after that goes to someones charity.
