On Sunday we had 8 of us jets get together to go play at a local lake

Tony Skagen (skagenboats.com) was with us and he invited a co-worker who's got a prop driven boat to join us. Well it was a REALLY bad day for Geoff (prop boat owner) to say the least

The P.O.S. guy that rear ended him had NO INSURANCE, and the boat was not insured either. What a horrible sight it was, parts everywhere ! Ripped the hitch off the tow vehicle, shoved the boat forward nearly three feet on the trailer. Fortunately no one was hurt physically.
We thought his uninsured motorist on the tow vehicle would cover the boat...wrong . It covers basically all trailers, except for boats ! A lesson learned the hard way. Needless to say most of us were on the phone the next day checking our coverage.
P.S. I know it's not a jet driven boat, but this is were I post, and have gotten to know a lot of you. Just sharing a bad luck story involving a friend.

Insurance, covers everything except the stuff that just got mangled. You got to read every single word in your policy.
Good thing no one got hurt. Parts are replaceable

Now that is just focked up:mad: At least it looks like the guys car got a good deal of damage:D
Yeah I'm sure the car (90's Old's Bravado sedan) will be totalled. I'm sure it'll be cheaper to replace the car than his BRAVO 1    .

Car Driver had NO Insurance...Did the boat owner impound the car owners vehicle for partial payment of the repairs??
Hopefully can/will SUE for the rest and then some for loss of water time.
Should have mentioned that the car driver looked as if they were trying to leave the scene.
Would the $ amount make that a felony??

Nope, tow truck took the car away...not much left as you can see. Sue ? I'm sure he will try, but a guy and his wife and his 5 yo duaghter (NOT in a car seat!) driving around in a P.O.S. car w/o insurance....like they'll have anything worth sueing for .

That really sucks about your friend. jackass people with no insureance! hope the police stuck it to him!!! now, being in law enforcement myself, NO you can not impound the vehicle yourself, NO you cant sue for time lost on the water. take him to civil court definetly, to pay for damages. that will be the ONLY way you could recover anything if he was uninsured. now, from past experience, good luck on recovering anything. if the schmuck didnt have insurance, he probably does not have a pot to piss in anyway. sorry to be the bearer of bad news. good luck my friend!!!

In CA hit and run is only a Felony if somebody other than the driver is injured or killed. If it's property damage only, its a Misdemeanor.

Wow, that sucks. I've been hit 3 times now and everytime it's been by a person with no insurance. Two times they were here illegally and didn't have a license either and the cops wouldn't even write them tickets, just let them go on their way and told me to call my insurance company.

I was wondering the same thing, 1 huge and 1 small set !! probably a good reason though.
I'm thinking we should all just cancel all the insurance we have and speak spanish every time we get into an accident !!
Must be nice to have free reign, hit cars and boats and be able to go home without even a slap on the wrist  Look out for a hoodless white Bravado with a new radiator in that area soon.
BTW, whats going on up there in Enumclaw, you guys still have that farm ?? You know the one I'm talking about :D Kasey Kahne is from there too, good times !!

The tabs are to keep that thing stable. He and his dad installed an OLD's under the hatch (not sure what size). I guess it took some time customizing the boat and the BRAVO to accept the engine. Once done I guess it halled ass, but needed to be more stable at speed. That was the solution, GIANT trim tabs to stop it from rocking side to side. Maybe Tony Skagen will jump in, but that's what I know. That was the first time I've even seen his boat. He and his dad sure made a work of art !!!
Free reign, NO SHIT !!! "Sorry your `06 Ford GT is totalled, but he doesn't speak english". May be a ruff opinion, but if you can't freakin speak this countries language, then get the F*%K out !!!
As for the Farm, I think it's still 'up' and 'runnin' :rollside: :rollside: :rollside:
And yup Kasey Kahne lived about 5 miles from me. I'm a #9 fan for sure. Actually he got me back into NASCAR. After Dale left us I stopped watching. I was and still am a HUGE #3 fan. I still miss that black car running around the track.................
