i took my boat to the river today and it leaks between the hull and the pump but my concern is my pump only bolts on the bottom and not on the back is this good or bad

i'm confused!...ur pump should have a transom plate that bolts to the pump & to the back of the boat?...u seal this plate with silicone to the transom...what kinf of pump do u have?

no this is how i bought it it bolts only on the bottom. would to hold?

It doesnt look like you would be able to bolt that WJ to the transom its pushed back around 8"? looks like you have alot of fabricating to do.. What did they try to seal it with? it looks like from the pictures they used Bondo..Looks like you will never open the inspection cover on top of the jet.

its 9" so this will not hold iwas going to take it for a spin but i thought the pump was going to fall off but dont no were to start fabricating (would it hold for the summer just a thought) :cry:they used silcone

From what I can see, looks like a fair job on the setback. I would clean every bit of the sealer off, wipe it down with acetone or lacquer thinner and reseal it with fresh silicone, a good marine grade, preferrably.

BTW, it's only supposed to bolt down to the intake, in the bottom of the boat.

just the bottom what i wanted to here yesrterday i took it out and i it was a bad day but i just replace the silcone was not sure but did any ways i told my wife i was sick of the boat and i was going to cut it in half came close to doing it and then she brought me a 12 pk of beer.lol
