Designing boats is a hobby of mine. From paint schemes to the boats themselves my ideas range from mild to wild. I like to let my imagination run wild once and a while and I'd like to know what people think of this one.
The design is based on the DCB F-34 and modified to look like a hydro. My thought was if you like big boats but you also like those drag hydros why not have one big hydro! Note that this is just one of my crazy little ideas floating in my head.

it's a bad drawing I know but then again I'm no artist.

Cool!
But you would need a police escort to pull it!

WW wink yeah I know you'd have to have those "wide load" tags on the back but hey it would look badass on the water!

i would name it the ping pong paddle. HAHAHA.....NO!
I was thinking Super Hydro or something. If you want a better mental picture first picture you average 30ft or so cat in all black with red flames on the front. Now add wing like a hydro and makes sure the back end is sitting low and the front high. Looks nice eh?

You would need a tilt trailer for that one for sure

a few thoughts..
1)how wide would this thing be?
an average boat is 7-8' feet, are you thinking 10-15'wide?
2) how would the average boater tow it?
3)lake use? or river? probably to low of a profile for ocean!
4)what about getting airborn....looks like one big wing?
5)launching looks a little tricky!!
keep up the ideas..it just takes one!!

keep up the ideas..it just takes one!! well I haven't drawn a view that shows the wing design yet so you can't see how it COULD be towed. The wings would be shape so that if you had a very tall trailer it would miss most cars and trucks. The trailer runners would lift like those on some pontoon trailers. The trail would have a wide stance to avoid tipping. The boat would be roughly 12 or 13 feet wide. I may look at a boat with a more narrow cockpit so I could achieve the look and still remain reasonable. Either way it'll look cool. Too bad no one will take the design.

"The wings would be shape so that if you had a very tall trailer it would miss most cars and trucks."
so when you say it would miss MOST cars and trucks??
which car or truck would fall victim to your design? eek!
now...i like the idea, you may want to think about not soo extreme on the wings... maybe a widening of the front sponsons instead!!!Cole

You should put a big bat symbol on it and wear a full wet suit, hood and all while you cruisin the bat wing thru the channel. hahahaha. No really though, Just build one of those bitchen tilt trailers like the one that miss budwiser rides on, I think the trailer will only set you back like 25k, No biggie right?

I think I'm going to go with a 27 or so foot design now. That would make it easier to keep the style and still make it practical. The boat would look kinda like a large scale version of this hydro.
