I'll have to assume that most of you got away from these long ago but still I was wondering if there is an upgrade from my 270 to something that can handle more punishment. I would like to build my 454 upwards of 500 hp but have been told that the 270 won't take that kind of abuse.
I know that if I go to a different outdrive alltogether, I'll have to do some extensive mods to the back of the boat and would like to avoid that if possible.
Any suggestions...
(my boat susposedly weighs between 4,000-5,000 lbs)
