Any one here run one??? Looking to pick up one of the ultra-quiet dealios to run the AC on the motor home at night.
Good, bad, indifferent??
I've cruised the RV boards, and all those cheap fockers want to buy is the chinese crap. Thought I'd get some good 'ole ***boat opinions.

The Kipors rock! I have a 3000 model, I looked at the Honda and Yamaha, the Honda would run the AC, but the Yamaha wouldn't. If you're worried about buying overseas, then get a Kohler or Onan.

I've got an Onan on board... it's just freaking loud... :220v: and I'm sure not everyone else in the camp grounds wants to listed to my generator. :D
So the 3000 Yami's wouldn't run an AC???

Was told the Yams couldn't hold the load for the start capacitor to get going (2800i) on a older 15K ac unit. My neighbor has 2 units (13.5k's) in his trailer, we used the Kipor (3000tsi) to run both, just can't start both at the same time.

I have two honda EU2000's. Start everytime, quiet, 33amps when I hook them together. Price is high, but you get what you pay for.

I have the Yamaha 3000. Its very quite and runs my 13.5 btu AC and frigdge no problem. Won't run the AC and the microwave at the same time however. The Kipors are cheaper and noisier and they are so new no one knows how long they will last.

My dad has the Yamaha 3000 and it has been great... When he first bought it it didn't have enough power to get the AC going, but he installed some sort of capacitor on the AC and now it works great. Very quiet unit.

Noisier, no so mine is quiter than a Honda 2000. Yes, they are new to the USA, but have been around Europe for years.

I had one when I owned a trailer, forget the size but I think it was a 2000 or something. It didn't power my A/C but we used it to power everything else, including the TV. I liked it because it was relatively quiet, it started easily, it was great on gas (1 gal would last forever) and it kept the hours off the onboard Onan.

That's what I'm looking at... what all can you run with it??? Yami says it'll pack a 13.5 BTU AC unit.
All I'm after is to run the AC unit, I'll fire up the onan if I need to run the microwave, TV, sat. reciever, ect...

Ya need near 3000 watt to run RV AC.
Usually they have a hard first start,, but after a few resets,, they handle the restarts/compressor cycling ok.
The Yami is supposed to have that extra 500 watt boost for ten seconds on there inverter mods + the remote start. Haven't heard much about how that has been.
We run the Honda 3000 and it's pretty good.
The Honda 3000i gets louder with time, + ya have to clean the cat converter annually and the spark plug too because they get really nasty with crud, change the oil all the time.
When using the Honda 3000 to run the AC, we put the refer on gas, the HW heater on gas, and turn off the batt charger, TV / sat ect for the first 10 minutes.

IMO, keep away from the Yammie inverters.. Great when new, impossible to repair when older..I have a couple of them in our scrap pile.. Look at Subaru Robin inverters for quality and value... The standard Yammie gensets do rock however...
