Sweeeeet looking ride! You should be stoked! Congrats and have fun with it. BTW, that thing is seriously aired out in that last pic. It looks like only the last 6" of boat and motors in the water. jawdrop

That last photo looks great. The boat attitude looks good with not too much trim either.FYI,Elsinore is 2 mph slower in any boat.If you would have trailered it to Havasu that same day you would have seen 106.Beleive it or not

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the pics tob. Question...what rpm should the 300x be spinning at wot? 6000 was the best we could do @ 104mph(4people on the boat, 1/2 tanks of fuel).

I THINK BETWEEN 6400-6800. HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU HAVE ON THE MOTORS? THEY WON'T BREAK LOSE UNTIL YOU HAVE ABOUT 20+ HOURS ON THE MOTORS. MERCURY MADE THE BREAKIN PROCESS IDIOT PROOF. IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 20 HOURS. YOU COULD ALWAYS PROP DOWN ABOUT TWO PITCHES.

I SEE THE FRONT OF YOUR BOAT IN ONE OF THE PICTURES TOBTEK. WHAT KIND OF NUMBERS ARE YOU SEEING SO FAR?

I SEE THE FRONT OF YOUR BOAT IN ONE OF THE PICTURES TOBTEK. WHAT KIND OF NUMBERS ARE YOU SEEING SO FAR? the best so far is 89.? :D getting real close to 90. only has 4 hours on the motor so far. Dave said IT WILL BE faster after 20 hours or so. so 90MPH is just fine with me. dont forget mine weigh's a bunch..extra batteries, speakers, amps,my big gut,ect..tried the 28 trophy prop today...it sucked! major blowout and very sluggish midrange. I think the 26 bravo was just as fast on top with 100% better holeshot. NOW, JM2's sounds so sweet and looks even better......BTW thanks for the ride Bryan  ...what ever....J/K hehehehe

ooops sorry tob for the no ride thing, don't know what I was thinking. I thought the break-in was 5 hrs, it's really 20?

TOBTEK-YOU SHOULD TRY A 26 OR 28 MERCURY CHOPPER II. I HEAR THEY HAVE INCREDIBLE TOP END WITH DECENT MID RANGE. THANKS FOR DOING ALL MY LEG WORK. wink

The speed difference between Elsinore and Havasu is most likely due to elevation assuming temps are equal.

I SHOULD HAVE GONE THAT MORNING!!!! oh well it was good for me to stay with the fam that morning wink ...... boat looks totally awesome in the water Bryan..... I have a feeling you will see better than 104, but with 4 people in the boat and 1/2 tanks that's amazing.... Elsinore is a sticky lake and I have heard the 20 hour deal on those motors.....good job my man....you are bringing it this weekend...yes? I'm aching for a triple digit ride...my pontoon goes 19 hehehe :D

at the risk of sounding like a lamer...why doesnt anybody try these with a single 300?

Screaming Pete

Good question tobtek I'd like to try that on my 300 also in a 30 inch

I don't understand why everyone says the motors need 20 hrs to break in...the manual says the motors will operate at 75% for the first 3 hrs...and they did, they only spun about 5300 rpm.
So I don't think after 20 hrs I'll see more rpm's out of these props(15x34). They are dogs out of the hole also, no way it will get on plane with 5 people and full load of fuel. Is there such a thing as a 15x32? Excuse my laim prop questions, this is the first outboard I've owned.

Thanks HS,
Those pics REALLY make me miss my old boat:). Luckily I saw my new 28 Extreme on Saturday , so that eases the pain.
jim2drvr,
I saw your ride at DCB on Saturday....SICK!!! I had the same question when I read my manual, but it really does get snappier after 20 hours. I only had the 300s not the 300x's and was able to get on a plane with six people and still run 100mph easy. Also the 300s vapor lock often in 100 degree heat, not sure if the 300x's do the same, but make sure you have your starting fluid with you this summer, that's the only stuff that works.
formerly Mach26, soon Extreme 28

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF BOW LIFT, JUDGING BY TOBTEK'S PICTURES, ON YOUR RIDE. CLEAVERS TEND TO PUSH THE STERN UP AND YOUR BOW IS TRYING TO LIFT. THE BOAT MIGHT BE FIGHTING ITSELF FROM FRONT TO REAR. THE ET IS A MIDDLE OF THE ROAD PROP. MIGHT BE A APPLICATION THAT WORKS FOR YOU. LOU AT LAKELAND HAS PLENTY OF PROPS.

JM2DRVR yes they do make 15x32 and I have a pair you can try if you are going to the BBSP in April. Hey Tob I told you I had a 28 four blade cleaver(like the one in the pics)cheap! Hey HS when I bought my boat the props where gone. I am now running 14 1\2x32 four blade cleavers. I have seen 107 up here on the delta. By the way dropped the boat off at Dave's shop Saturday for all new guts(new Mach 26 style). Any final on the dates for the BBSP yet? Your killing me up here waiting!

Im going by in the morning to drop a 28 trophy off. It sucked bad! congrats on your new arival at home......when is BBSP BTW

It looks as though that the 15x34 props are going to work out after all...4 people in the boat on flat calm water at the river this last weekend, 6400 rpm and 106mph. A little sluggish out of the hole, but I can deal with that.
