BTW, had to say that Jan and Lightning headers were GREAT. I'd buy em again in a heartbeat. Turns out Jan has some good history as far as performance and jets go.. Great guy and great businessman :)

CP, I'd like to know how you like them once you get them installed.

Well, they're already on and I can tell you I love em. It's my second set.
Check em out here (http://boatheaders.com/) for more technical info.

Well, the verdict is, I love 'em. Been dancing carb jets to get her back to being right, and am only 1 size larger, all the way arround, than before. 700CFM holley, jetted 67/77. 3 sizes was way to rich. Starts nice, runs sweet, the sound is REALLY nice thru the 4" outlets (but THOSE are some shin-bashing bastards I can tell ya). Great throttle response.
Gain was honest, 200 RPM, that translates to right about 50 HP. Spun a hard 4,800 last fall, and am spinning 5,000 all this past weekend.
Still have to close the water inlet just a little more, 118* flat out is cooler than I want, 156 idling. Was 130/170 with water thru the logs first and no other changes.

Is there enough clearance with those to get the valve covers off without pulling the headers too?
With my Bassett TT headers, there isn't enough room to get a wrench on bottom bolts of the vc's

Yes, but it won't be a lot of fun.
I have a set of Mickey Thompson cast Al. valve covers, and they clear, what's more, I have a set of wire looms that used to run OVER the logs (long flat angled taper), slid up between the headers and the covers, and I installed them after the headers were in place, on the aft 2 valve cover bolts.

I guess I'm buying headers this winter.
200 rpm is worth 2k.
Thanks for the info.

I have Lightning Headers on my ZZ502 Crate in the 22' Placecraft
I put them on and as a side note went to school with Jay

Great product
The gaskets they supply are a joke - go to copper
The flanges wern't surfaced correctly - go to the big gaskets
Header reality - None go on easy
This is true here too
I would buy them again
I had the headers Powdercoated - make sure they powder coat
inside the collector. I had it done a year after I started running them and there was corrision inside the collector - the powdercoat stopped the collector corrosion
