He was just stating his feelings. I think it was great. He played ball when baseball was baseball still and didn't make a bankroll like some. Did you know that he was offered a million dollars for it and turned it down. He will give it away if it is put someplace where it will be respected. That says a whole lot to me. I was at that game, I was only 8 but remember it well it was the bicentenial year and we had been studying the flag in school, everyone was very patriotic.

Not the commentating during the video, just his commentating during the games he calls.

I remember that like it was yesterday. In the early 80's, a buddy of mine use to work at a 76 station on fairoaks in S. pasadena Rick Monday came in to gas up one evening while I was there. My buddy and I were able to thank him and shake his hand that evening.
