88bahner

Hi,
Been following the forums for quite some time. Now I finally have a reason to ask a question.
I just replaced the packing gland on an 87 Bahner jet. So far so good. Now it's time for the oil change. I warmed up the engine for 5 minutes (with the hose hooked up and water flowing through the engine). After changing the oil, I noticed a small amount of a thick grease (I'm assuming the grease that is part of the packing gland) had dripped from where the packing gland adjusters are located.
Did I just ruin the new packing gland?
Thanks,
Chris
