I NEED SOME HELP WITH SOME INFO ON A 1972 STARBUCK. IT'S 17' RUNNING AN OUTBOARD. (150HP INLINE 6 MERCURY) WANTING TO RESTORE IT. BOAT DID NOT HAVE AN INTERIER WHEN BOUGHT. I NEED SOME PHOTOS OR SOMEONE WHO CAN TELL ME ANY INFO AT ALL ABOUT IT. I KNOW THEY WERE BUILT IN DENVER BY JIM STARBUCK. THAT IS ALL I KNOW ABOUT THE BOAT OTHER THAN IT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE FAIRLY FAST. IT lOOKS A LOT LIKE THE OLD GLASTRON GT. ANYBODY OUT THERE?

Don't bring one (a Starbuck boat) to the Lake.
Once one gets in, pretty soon they'll be one in every cove.

Yeah, It Was Built In Your Momma's Stop And Rob. You've Got To Be The Biggest Moron On The Page Today. But Thanks For Proving Your Ignorance. You Know, Some People Actually Use This Site For Passing Knowledge. Oh, My Bad, What Could You Possibly Know About That.

Don't have any pics right now. It is not a tunnel. The best I can offer as far as pics right now is to look on eBay for a 1972-1976 Glastron GT. This boats hull and deck design is a lot like the Glastron GT. Even the windshield and it's wrap around frame are almost identical. This one has a dark green bottom and bright green metal flake sides and top. The closed flat bow has a woodgrain looking decal covering most of it. Hope that helps you to be able to help me...or something like that.

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning toward putting back to back buckets in it. Would put a bench across the backand buckets up front, but want to move some weight forward. With the old and heavy 150HP inline 6 Merc. outboard, gas tank, battery and trim pump it's kinda stern heavy. Thanks again for you help.

I use to have a 1988 Liberator. Looked just like the Starbuck only a lot lighter.
There is alos one called a Contender that looked the same. All true tunnels.
I dont know how to post pics or I would. :)

the contender was built using the original starbuck mold.. liberator took a starbuck and popped a mold off of one and started building them.. all 3 are the same hull..
not sure how much lighter,, but the Libs are just a little lighter.. the guy i got my starbuck from had bought one of the last 2 hulls that liberator still had in stock to replace the starbuck.. and their isnt alot of weight difference

I wanted to thank you for your input. According to the metal name plates on each side of the boat it says it is a Starbuck. They read; STARBUCK KUSTOM LTD. DENVER, COLO. I live in Texas and according to Texas Parks and Wildlife who handle all marine titleing and registration also say it's a 1972 17' Starbuck. The hull number is SKB07420BMD. I don't know how to put pics on here either. The closest pic I can offer is on eBay. There are several old Glastron GT's for sale there. This boat looks like a near copy of the GT with only slight changes. On the GT, the transom is a little differant with its indented corners and the windshield stands up a little streighter. On the Starbuck, the bow deck is flat and does not rise up just in front of the windshield. But for the most part if they were sitting side by side the design itself and hull look nearly the same. This is not a tunnel hull. I'm pretty sure the old 150 Merc is the original motor. Thanks again for your help. Let me know if you have anything else.

73kona455 is right on - your boat is not a Starbuck.
The most likely senerio is that somewhere in the past the boat changed hands without paperwork. The new owner found some paperwork for a Starbuck and with very little effort he had a Starbuck.

Starbucks Hull Identifaction Numbers start with the Manufacturer identifaction code of SCP... which when starbuck closed at the end of 1978 was gave to another company called Sport Craft..
SKB07420BMD isnt even a valid hull identication #... the last 2 digits is usually a number.. which in your case if it was a 1972 model boat would be 72 .. it tells the year the boat was made in the Hull ID #..
you can get alot of info off the USCG website...

You seem a little wound up, I would recommend switching to decaf.
