Intake Opening

Found out that when mounting my blower (871 Bowers Mag.) that my intake(Wiend) opening was about 1 1/2" shorter than my blower outlet side. Anybody else had this problem? Had to make a shimplate to rectify the problem.

8-71 blower, 6-71 manafold. Standard deal. We cut them to fit the larger blowers all of the time. You likely won't notice any difference, but you will feel better about it. TIMINATOR

The blower opening is actually hanging over the end of the intake. You can stick your fingers iside the blower housing after it is mounted.

OOPS! I forgot to mention that aftermarket manafolds from real blower companies are cast to fit anything from a 6-71 to a 14-71, they (or you) just machine the hole to fit. Manafolds that are old or from the "baby blower" companies usually only fit the intended size. TIMINATOR
