Hello Everyone,
What say you on the fuel rates for 2006?
:argue:
VP Racing announced today its relationship with CL Bryant, Inc., formerly one of VP’s bulk master distributors, has been terminated. “It’s unfortunate it had to come to this,” said Fred Morrison, VP’s President and CEO,
What are the new prices?

Willis, you should talk to the F&L guys. They were very helpfull to us for the Parker 300. I am sure they would LOVE to scoop those VP sales at the drag boat races.

I have a connection with a big distributor of sunoco if you want the # for them to see if they want to supply fuel for the races. That sucks to hear about the CL Bryant deal. I had a good deal going with them for VP too. Unfortunately IHBA requires racers to run VP. Let me know if you want my contact. #

With our last motor we ran VP C12 with great success. We then switched to F&L 111 and it ran terrible, maybe we got a bad batch, but I would be very reluctant to go back to that stuff. With our new motor we were planning on running C16, but now I don't know.

I've Been Running F&l 111 The Whole Year With Good Luck... No Diff Between It And The Vp... I Even Ran Some Old F&l A Few Times And It Still Ran Great.... Im Confident Both Are Quality Fuels... My Only Worries, Are The Place Im Getting It, Doesnt Move Much Of It Unless The Cars Are Dragin... So I Worry About Geting Old Splt... Beat It, Nelson#109

The reason I asked about the VP C16 is that's what we run and if there's enough interest, we might be able to bring some extra in our drum ... not promising ... just askn' at this point to see if it's feasible.

I also use C16 and have had great luck with it, I have bought it from Bryant to use at Redbluff but mainly buy from RE Powell out of Pasco WA ,also a distributor of Powell in Yakima. The distributor is fantastic, the driver will even call me when he is coming to Central Oregon and they make deliveries twice a month. Contacts are availible on the VP website or I have #'s PM me if you need them.

So I looked at F&L's ST 118 and the specific gravity is 0.68-0.72 at 60F. How does that differ from VP and how would that affect our motor

willis, will the same guy still deliver fuel to the track?
i haven't found anything to be as consistent as vp. don't know anything about f&l? but i've tried several gallons of other brands, and the vp performed a little better for me, and has been tremendously consistent.

Anyone run VP C16?
I have run VP and Sunoco both-----now only run Sunoco Maximal 118 in the gas blower motors-----seems to run better for me than the VP

WILLIS...They sell VP in Torrance,Ca .Lew Larson has the address.
C L Bryant has only been selling VP for 2 years, since Union 76 stopped making racing fuel.No big loss. There are alot of distributors and dealers in Ca and AZ. Ron

bp, this thread was just to inform the guys that CL Bryant - VP is not going to be there with VP Fuel.
I Don't know what the officers are going to do, just wanted to spread the word.
I know there are some people who depend on the fuel truck.
Just need feed back so I can take it to the officers.
We have several options that include bringing your own fuel!!

over the years, i've just gotten into the habit of getting my fuel at the tracks. where i live, it's not easy to find anyway, and i end up chasing all over the place and paying just as much.
the guy (i probably have a card around here somewhere, just can't remember the name) has been coming out for quite a few years. ron, i know he's cl, but he didn't seem to care what he sold, whether it was unocal or vp, he was just providing a service, even bringing alky for the alky guys. consequently, i'd think he'd have something to offer, even if it's not vp. he was open to discussing contingencys, but i don't think anyone ever approached him.
i'd prefer to run vp if there's someone around there that will provide it. there must have been enough people buying from him for him to keep coming back.

Willis....A few guys wanting to buy fuel at the races, does not justify a fuel truck at the races.Unless you make it manditory to buy your fuel at the track like IHBA and NHRA does,it's probably best to have everyone bring thier own.The VP truck at Ming never had C-14+ ,so I always brought my own. Hello Everyone,
:argue:
We are looking into another vendor who sells VP fuel. I and the club knows that several of our racers use VP and do not like to transport the fuel or store it at home/office.
Will get back to you on the progress.
Anybody who lives in or near Bakersfield who knows of a vendor with VP
Drop a thread to me.
Thanks

Willis ... you should call Tim Smith, office (909) 877-2651, cell (909) 633-6004, VP Sales w/ racefuels.com ... he'll bring you fuel (deliver) if your in the So Cal area ...
I'm already working with Bakersfield vendors for Ming ... it's nothing for everyone to worry about.

Brian,
I purchase my fuel and bring it to the races.
I use a shop out in Torrance, HRP Mark's a good dude and the price is ok.
The intent of the thread was jut to inform people that CL Bryant doesn't distribut for VP. He now has Sunoco products.
For our new racers who need more info about specks on fuel what grade to run in you hot rod, check out this site.

Thanks Allen,
I don't my way around Bakersfield yet.
But if we are going to help our racers, we will need a local supplier who will cut some kind of a deal.
