Years back at lake Nacimiento some cheap ass tried to avoid the launch fee and launched at the dirt shore. When the guy came back an hour later to pull his boat out he buried the truck to the axle and then blew his tranny. A very big Ford something came to save the day and got stuck. Finally a Chevy that was jacked up like Bigfoot hooked up to both the Ford,the original truck and his boat and pulled them all out with little effort.That would have been a great commercial for Chevy.

not me but I saw it happen one day at Windsor...one of the rental companies was pulling one of their boats out when the trans decided it had worked long enough and expired right there on the spot :220v:

well, I was at pyramid, pulling out my 28' cat when the tranny said good by. I think it started to go out pulling up the grade. This will be the 3rd tranny this year, only this time i'm building it strong. stupid ford's I love them

I had a tranny go out at the Gordon's Well offramp on the way to the river. the wife, kids, and I rode in the Suburban on the flatbed with the boat behind us.
Turned out it just boiled the fluid out. Added fluid and had one of the best river trips ever.
P.S., at first I thought this post was about a transvestite (tranny) bailing on you when pulling the boat out. lol.

I had the "Park" feature in the trans fail at Newport Dunes. The outcome of this was not good. Lots of "almost happened" but I managed to stop the combo in time (on my back...laying on the ramp) to keep everything out of the drink. I got my foot run over (which did nothing) and my ego jacked.
And a new Art-Carr trans shortly there after.
Every once in a while I wake up in a cold sweat over that and its been over 10 years.
Set the parking brake...I wont launch without it.

My buddy blew out the trans cooler line on the ramp, so not only were we stuck, but once we got it pulled off the ramp, there was a 9 quart mess!
