Are asking about the "high sided" cruiser or this style....

YES! that would.
I talked to you on the phone about the boat the other day
Try to get ahold of Pat Eason if you have any other questions he rigged the bare hull. Are you going to put a hemi back in it? How about a KB all AL 426 with a 1071 for it? It would come with a 727 for your tranny. :D

NICE BOAT!
I'm Kinda goin a little more 2 seater with a back seat since theres already one for it.
it would be nice to have false floors and an engine cover but i am putting a blown 502 in it so i'm already not sure how i'm gonna fit the back seat in and it be "usable" and still have the motor as far forward as it should be but i think i have it pretty much all worked out on paper and in my head.
some pics of the inside of these boats would sure help out alot though!

It had a trans in before unless the guy up North changed the setup.
Originally had a 426 with a 727 then a BBC with an adapter to the 727.

the slick thing to do it use a dual stage cooler. If you use a 3" cooler they come in 9" increments. You can use a 3x18" for the oil with a smaller 3x9" piggy backed to it for the trans. That way you only need to run one set of water hoses to it.
I don't know if a new oil cooler is in your plan but it should be. You don't want to run a new blown 502 engine through a cooler that someone else might have puked an engine in. Just my 0.02
If you need a cooler let me know as I just might be able to help you out.

Thanks,
I have my hatch off and part of the floor, right now. I will try and get some pics. My boat is not race fit so the pics may not be usefull. It has a mix of SS lines and hose, not a lot of bling. I was on a tight buget and couldn't afford a lot of $$. As a matter of fact, the V-drive, tranny and motor came out of my old boat. Rebuilt the motor and trans and freshened up the v-drive.
Engine is a 454 .60 over, GM Hi Perf heads with a velvet drive.

how fast does it go the way you have it set up now?

Itsahobby
06-07-2006, 06:20 PM
58 MPH on a hand held GPS. I think I can get more, but I haven't tweaked with it much. That's at, right around, 6200 RPM.
The 58 MPH was just my wife and I and 50 gallons of gas.
Right now I am still getting it back from losing a water pump impeller
Had to pull the heads to get all the impeller pieces out, now it stumbles, real bad, when I put it in gear.
Sucker turns on a dime, though :)

What exactly are you looking for picture wise?
If it has the seats that used to be in they should already be in the right location for the trans and motor. The rest of the rigging would be basic v-drive setup. Are you trying to determine plumbing, electrical, motor and trans location or?

yes all of the above!
did it always have a back seat?
the front seats are new fiber shells completely coverd and the back looks like brand new wood to me.

They've been changed then.
The fronts were "wrap around" buckets with cloth and the back bench had a huge burn in it from Pat's home made headers for the Hemi.
Didn't he give you all the mounting hardware for the motor and trans?
Pat did put a chevy in it and I thgink the guy up North ran a BBC too so the setup sholud be standard for the BBC.
The only thing that might throw things off is the tranny was a 727 and Pat made an adapter for the 727 to the BBC.
He knows a lot more about the rigging than I do but it should be straight forward. When Jay sold it it had a snakes nest of braided line in it from it being run on injection.
I'll see if Jay still has the pics of the hull without motor and trans.
Pat should be able to talk you through it. The electrical and plumbing are pretty basic. They were in the archives here somewhere.

If you would like you could bring the boat by my shop and I'll line out all the plumbing with you. Many different ways to do it but I'd be glad to show you how I would set it up.
If you have not put many hoses together before I'll show you the way I do that too. Of course we'll try to re-use as much as we can but I can set you up with any new parts you may need.
I'm a dealer for Rex Marine also so if you need any other hardware we could roll it all up in one shot.
I could try to tell you over the internet but you are close enough to swing by. It would be much easier to just stand there and look over what you already have.
take it or leave it but the offer is there.
