How many horses would you say a fresh stock internals marine 455 with a Torker intake and 750 Edelbrock carb should push? Maybe some numbers from someone thats dyno'd a setup like this? Just trying to get a rough estimate. Thanx guys.

if the internals (including the cam) are stock and the heads havent been touched then about 410 hp. The factory 390 hp rating on the superduty motors is pretty accurate.

has anyone port matched their intake and head ports for better and smoother flow? any significant gains? this was covered in last issue of Engine Masters magazine and it seems like a fairly simple task for someone even with my experience to do

i gained about 400 RPM on a 455 by just doing some mild porting to smooth out any obstructions and a half ass port match. gained alot of mid range torque aswell.

alot of olds heads have some really rough combustion chambers aswell. if your careful you can try and smooth it out a bit too. take your time and dont remove too much.
