Some scumbag broke into my truck in the Venetian parking garage and stole my briefcase and my radar detector. I had a Passport, but I have heard good reviews on the Valentine V1 detector. Does anyone have any advice on which detector I should buy next? Thanks!

If you don't speed you wont need one, Then think about the 400 to 500 you just saved...
That was easy

Have heard the Valentine 1 is the best. I know they are pricey since was looking for one as well. Wish could get a group rate thing going on some.
Or like Kilrtoy said, slow down and save your money.

I have a Valentine One and it is great. It is easy to read and tells you how many threats are in an area and from what direction the treat is coming. We use it every trip out to the River. I have watched many others get tickets while I slow down and they speed by.
I don't have a get out of jail or a ticket free pass like Kilroy so the $400 I spend was well worth it to me. :)

Wow,looks like the Valentine is the ticket. Pardon the pun. And thanks to Kilr for the best advice of all.

Kilr is correct, slowing down is the easiest, and best solution. Of course if you actually drive 70 you run the risk of getting run over. IF you choose to exceed the speed limit get the Valentine 1, hands down the best radar detector regardless of what those hacks at radardetectors.com say.

I have a Passport X85. The best detector I have ever used. Its paid for itself a couple of times in the two years I have owned it. Funny thing about having a radar dectector is that it makes you more aware of your speed and actually slows you down. Which is a good thing. I hardly ever plug it in any more :)

I had a 75 dollar belltronics a couple years ago it did the job for me on the freeways on long trips.there were some places i got false signals and those i knew.Other beeps i watch out sure enough chp was very close by.
On surface streets i usually keep at speed limit

Val 1 is what I have and have nothing bad to say, the way to go for sure.
plus when it gets outdated you can send it to them and for a small fee they will upgrade your product.

I can't NOT speed, so I have an Escort Passport if I am not mistaken and it saves me about twice per trip

If they could learn to drive they would not need one, stick down two and drive....
I guess everyone needs a crutch
Radios are fast , but not that fast

Huh?
I'm sure there is a dig in there somewhere, I just don't get it.
Without radar, how many speeders would you "catch"?

Had 'em for years - there's none better. If you drive up/down the 5 freeway it works like a CHP-detector since most of the Chippies cruise with their radar on all the time.
