Well we took a weekend off from Havasu and I finally got a chance to get a few more things done on the rhino. It's not 100% but it's getting closer and it's by no means close to Toby's crazy rhino but I can USE this one without worrying about it getting dirty :crossx:
Here's the modified bumper and new skidplate, first time I've used the dimple dies and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Also finished the stereo install. I have a set of Eclispe 5x7's and a JL 10" sub under the seat power by a JL 4 channel amp, big thanks to Dave at Al & Ed's in Ontario for the parts and a big thanks to Magic34 for the pimped out billet speaker grille.
Here's one 5x7 cut into the dash. I'm going to replace the plastic cup holder piece with an alum one for better looks and bigger cup holders :crossx:

Here's the other 5x7 in a figerglass speaker box I made. This was my first attempt at a fiberglass speaker pod so don't beat me up too bad.

I sprayed the box with a kind of Rhino Liner like rubber coating so it won't get scratched too easy, so far it's holding up pretty good.
Here's the sub and amp under the driver seat.

Finally added an aux batt, an Odyssey PC925 under the hood with a battery isolator off the main battery. The stereo and HID's are tied into the Aux battery so I can always start the rhino and make it home. I also added a charger for the Odyssey so I can plug it in at night and recharge it.

I didn't get a chance to put the zip ties at 1 inch on center and I don't have any billet battery boxes... but I think it will work for a wannabe JV baller like me :crossx:

Yeah it will be. You know we're having a blast with it in Havasu, exploring the trails up in the hills, cruising down to the dunes behind the refuge, if the Rhino only had AC now..... :D

Thanks Toby. Elka's and Beadlocks would be nice....wanna trade for some metal building components......maybe a shed or two or three
Unless Jav gives me a set of Walker Evans to "test" ... :crossx: the suspension is staying as is until I can get a LT kit on there. So did Jav pick his up yet? :)

We usually head down there just before sunset. We take Cheneweth(sp?) past the fire station and straight out to the hill overlooking the Refuge and the mouth of the river.......sit back and have a few cocktails....good times...
We'll let you know.....I'll take the laptop so we can PM numbers and catch up. I know I'll see you next week at the Regatta if all else fails.

Too funny, we must pass your house ten times a weekend....sorry for all the noise :rollside: We're at the RV park on the other side of the 95.
We'll definately have to catch up and exchange numbers with you living so close and having the Rhino..... :crossx:
Dave, Havasu Luvr wants to follow us out to the Dunes and get some high res pics of the Rhino's sitting, jumping, whatever. I'll let you you know when we get organized and head out there.

How was it getting your Rhino in backwards?
I usually put mine in foward in my short bed but have to take the bumper off.
I have always been woried about the tailgate not holding up either?
By the way nice truck!!

hey ADDICTED, I have a 06 f250 standard bed and i was worried about the same thing and when my nieghbor put his in his chevy 1500 it was real scary and i started looking at it, and you know the scizzor jacks that come with trucks that we all throw out when either we lift the truck or put big stereos in them i came up with the idea of putting the jack underneath the rhino towards the tailgate and jack it up to were the cable has a little slack but you cant move the wheels on the rhino, and then strap it down that way you never have to worry about the tailgate getting messed up and those jacks are light and small. just a thought, he drove it to the river and the jack never leaked down.

That is a good Idea!!
In the past I just used some smaller ratchet straps with the cables for extra insurance but after a few trips my 2005 Chevy has a dent from the inside out?
I will try your idea this weekend.

I got tired of the dent from my rhino on the tailgate. What I have been doing lately, which is kind of ghetto, is to put a pice of 3/4" ply in the truck bed and drive the Rhino on top. It evenly distributes the weight of the rhino across the gate versus in two places and prevents the dent. Havent had a problem yet.

u know i relly did not ever think of that, and as far as backwards my front bumper is to big and it would probley smash my back window so i had no choice than to find a big dirt mound and my alum ramps and backed it right in. and as far as the tailgate goes i think u can put up to 800 lbs on the gate with no worries and since the rhino is only 1100 lbs i dont think there is no more than 600 lbs on it at the time i drove from northridge to havi 2 weeks ago. with no problems. i think 80% of the rhino in in the truck bed and off the tailgate.

Here is where I got my ramps. You can get some really long ones that make the incline mush less. Be sure to get the 1500 pound set though.
