View Full Version : Jet pump cost?
In order to make a jet boat reach 100+, I would think that the pump would be just as important as the motor. How much money can one throw into a jet pump on average to maximize performance? This is a little open ended but, assuming everything else has been done to the hull and motor.

Depends on which pump it is and what condition it's in. And if it's a panther it will never see 100mph unless it's a passenger in a boat with a berkeley style pump!

JC, completely stock. No droop, no diverter, no nothing!
I'm referring to the berkeley's that are all fixed up. If one were to buy a Daytona or what ever, what would one expect to spend to convert a stock pump to a race pump on the average?

around 3k..............Nice impeller, ride plate/shoe, wedges, droop/snoot,diverter.........then add that much more for things like a jetaway, pop off, flow work, loaders, stuffers, race nozzel w/inserts,custom bowl.......and if you want all this shit to look nice keep adding $$$$$ when you said "race" triple the price of a "decent" jet pump.........
That's what I was figuring. Around 10K. Thanks for the response.

10K in a pump, good lord. I thought pumps were supposed to be cheaper than outdrives.
