Meh, he got what he deserved. Who goes on to a boating site and starts talking about meeting a girl off the internet and banging in weird positions? He was hoping everyone would be all impressed by him. Do you ask total strangers on the street "Hey, you! I'm planning to meet a girl and she wants to have sex, what should I do??" Of course you don't.

Dear ***boat. For the last 8 months or so I have been talking to this girl on the internet. I haven't seen a good face shot of her yet, but I know she is very fit and slim with long flowing blonde hair. She is always talking about smoking poles and all sorts of other erotic positions. He's about 40 miles from our farm. I've driven by the place a million times, but have never spoken to the guy. A friend of mine bought a 56 Ford F-100 Panel truck off him for cheap a couple years back... I've been wanting to see if he has any parts for my 28 Essex or 49 Stude pickup. Seems he has mostly Ford, but a little of the goofball stuff too.

28 essex is still in the weeds. It was my great grandfathers first car. There isn't much left of it other than body shell and frame... so it will be a radically chopped and channelled rat rod. The Studebaker we started on this spring. It is in remarkably rust-free condition. With seeding we haven't gotten too far, still just disassembling and cataloguing parts. It is going to be a traditional rod/kustom. Nothing too crazy as far as engine goes, we want to try to make it mid-60's period correct. Completely stock bodied but with the bumpers removed and nerf bars instead, and lots of extra chrome. Metalflake paint with a matching tuck and roll metalflake vinyl interior. Trying to decide between dual quad 327 (60's corvette), 409, 1959 olds 394, or an early hemi. It will definately be running a 4 speed and a quick change diff. Keeping the stock studebaker straight axle, but will get the Turner Studebaker disk brake kit... hopefully chrome and drill the axle if we have the $. For wheels, the plan is American Torque Thrusts with redline bias plies... or Astro Supremes with wide whites. We are still fighting between green metalflake (my choice) and brown metalflake (dad's choice)... but time will tell.
I'm anxious to work on it, but we have so many other projects on the go. Still gotta finish the BSA, and now I'm doing my Ranger up as a lowrider, so it may be a few years.

Unfortunately this is all I have so far... right before we pulled it home. Thats about as good as she's gonna look for a while.. now she is half torn apart. We been super pleased with it though. NO nasty surprises at all... looking way more solid than we were even expecting. Its funny how that paint just washed off though. Surface rust on everything, but only about a dime size hole rotted through in one front fender.

And since it was parked in 69, it never saw a bit of road salt. Thats what kills cars these days. My 92 Ranger is about to get its 5th paint job to keep it looking good... you just can't keep a car decent driving it in the winter around here.

I think in 1990 it would be a 2.9L... mine is a 3.0L with the 5 speed. I know they kept the 2.9L for the 4x4. Not sure which has the better reputation, but I know my 3.0L has been fabulous. Its been completely trouble free. I find them to be comfortable and and steer/drive real nice. I've got 4.11 gears and with the 5 speed and 3.0L its actually not all that sluggish. (and I have a Trans Am, so I do have a baseline; I have driven somewhat quick vehicles). Sounds good with a straight pipe too. Not at all like a little Honda. The front twin I beam I think was a fabulous suspension. It has so much travel. I've jumped it out of underground parking and never bottomed it out. I realize that was stupid, but it does speak well for the front end. Now that I am working I wanted a new truck, but I just couldn't stand to see the old girl go, its been so good to me. So I decided to go all-out on it. I know its a waste of money to spend what I plan to on it (10-15K)... but I should have one of the nicer mini's around.
