Project in process..1987 hull, motor 1997 2.5 real real good shape.Pics are as it was when it was picked up three weeks ago..totally gutted at this point..doing some very minor glass work,a few trick mods with glass and have special strenghtening/Kevlar done to transom..the 2.5 is gone !!setting it up for a 98 300 Merc with new upgraded big shaft sportmaster,the motor is basically brand new from the box,46 hrs. ..motor to be modified at Boatworks in Miss...some new tricks to be applied.{same guys that run the Triad Drags in ODBA}..thinking of a 10 inch set back on a Detwailer {?} hyd jack plate with full hyd steering from the helm...
Will use 20oz carpet on the sides and was thinking of some Pirelli rubber flooring inside..Interior to be all custom done at Premier Performance Interiors in Sarasota Fl...
All gauges to be updated with latest Gaffrig GPS etc..
Bottom to be done{Blueprinted}
All glass and paint to be done at Triad Boats in Augusta Ga...they do awesome custom paint and build incredible STV and drag boats...
Hope to submit to Hot Boat early early spring
:D
Any input would be appreciated ..thus far working direct with Robert at Talon

HP,
Boat looks good...have you ever talked to anyone that has rigged one with a 300? I have never seen one with a 300, so I am wondering how it takes to the heavier motor...it is a bigger boat, so it should be ok....
Good luck with the project.

Hey MB..yea talked to Robert at Talon and a guy in Miss..he had one with a old V8 o/b..seems key is the set back..between 8-10 inches.,also the hyd plate for hieght agjustment,it will help roll it over without doing it all with trim.we will find out early next yr [Feb}..going to do some mild work to it..vent cowling for air flow,light flywheel,the guys at boatworks.com,Dewitt and Wayne....looking forward to it..I am working on new paint /color scheme now and will redesign the interior:D
I haven't sold the Warlock yet but didn't want to go another summer without a small tunnel/cat to play with:eek: this was doable ..not sure if I can convince the "boss" to keep one boat here and one at the lake house

Vast improvement! As for your setup questions, you should put them right to talon. He knows how to setup a boat and there is nobody that can provide you with more information than the builder! http://www.talonmarine.com/

very nice! a VAST improvement over the original! How long did it take you? Looks like a lot of work, but seems very worth the effort. Good luck with the rest of your project.

Just thought I would let you know, I had a talon t-21 a few years back and had major problems with the left sponson....seems it delamintated from the inside and split on the outside...and started filling the boat with water...I have no idea what caused it...I was in smooth water all day....but it cost me over $4000 to get it fixed...and I sold it.....
Your reallly looks nice and I would like to have another one....but not a Talon......

So far doing great...playing with the motor hieght..running GPS 94/96 depending how ya look at the hash marks on the dial..best prop on high end is the Hydromotive 28 quad 4 O/T outboard cut..
Still playing with afew others at this point..having one cut to a 27 and will run in a few weeks..also working on a Mazco HP4 27..potential is looking real good for crusing at 75/80 and VERY stable in and out of the throttle....the goal is to be at about 95 without being out on the edge too far..
