Did I hear that right? Did Matt Leinart say "I still think we're the better team. They just made some plays at the end." Is this guy on crack? I always thought the team that makes the plays is the better team. USC couldn't make any plays, yet they're still the better team. What a donkey.

In defense of SC, the ref gave TEXAS two calls that resulted in 10 Points...
That means they are still down by 7 maybe more....

I saw the pitch on the touchdown run. What's the other call? Either way, SC could not make a play when they needed to. They had plenty of opportunities. But what about the interview? Did anybody else hear it?

Personally, I think USC is the better team too. But, tonight, Vince Young was the best player on the field.
How on earth can you say SC is the better team? The better team definitely won tonight. I'm not saying SC is bad, but Texas is clearly better. What team made the plays when they needed them?

The better team does not always win games in any sport, that's why they play the games. Texas benefited from a couple bad calls, no big deal. USC probably got a few call their way during their 34 game winning streak.

yes, the better team does not always win, but they win when it counts. Tonights game counted more than the others, and they lost. We should re-name them the USC Origamy...since they fold under pressure. :D

When you lose you should give credit to the winning team. No excuses. Lose just like you won.
He should have given them credit for beating them. Showed a lack of class IMO
Exactly....I agree....but I can't get down on a 22yr old kid that just lost the biggest game of his life...
I think Vince Young showed less class in his body language at the Heisman Awards....
Excuses aside Texas was better tonight and the scoreboard reflected it.

Bush should have never tried to pitch the ball.

I think it was the same kind of thing. Not less but the same kind of thing
Your right, you can't measure lack of class...it's either yes/no..

I agree - it wasn't the right comment to make at the time.
But its a FACT that bad calls directly resulted in 10 Texas points. USC really won this game despite the final score.

When the texas receiver caught the ball and had it stripped and SC recovered it on the Texas 30 yard line.. they called it in incomplete pass and they drove for 3 points...

Because I'm a pretty knowledgeable college football fan and I think that USC is the better team. I think if they played ten times, USC wins 6-7. They didn't win tonight. Too bad for them and me because I lost a bottle of Belvedere. ;)
I agree. I actually was thinking 7-8 out of 10. Vince Young and USC beat USC. Mental mistakes by USC.

The other blow call was when YOung's knee was clearly down but lateral flung the ball leading to 6 points.

Ok, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're too drunk and don't know what you're saying. :D What was the other play that gave Texas the field goal?

Agreed. Vince Young was incredible. And Reggie Bush's fumble in the first half (trying to lateral after a big gainer?! WTF?!) hurt USC bad. The refs call (no call) on the touchdown in the first half hurt too but Vince Young probably would have run it in anyway. The best player on the field made the best plays and won the game singlehandedly for Texas. SC needs to improve their defense next year (while trying to replace all the guys on offense who will become instant millionaires.

We will stop that in it's tracks right now
What about the 4th and 2 that gave TX the ball. Why not punt it and let your defense do the job at the end of the game? Arrogance is what did USC in tonight.
Because it was obvious that SC's defense had no answer for Vince young...Sc tackled like UCLA and their cover was horrible...No wonder Fresno State put up 40+ points on them...
I liked the call from Carroll on 4th and 2..His offensive had been running the ball pretty good with Lendale White and Carroll knew his defense was having trouble...If SC gets that 1st down it was game over as they could have run out the clock..Thats the way it goes sometimes...

Matt go his bell rung pretty good in the first half. Could be an after effect. But then again, it could be that ballroom shiat attitude.

I've heard they've already started the script for "Everybody's All-American II". They're going to cast Damon Wayans as Vince Young. It will be a bit of a stretch for Wayans, he'll have to slow his delivery down. :p :D
Ouch :crossx:

Was I the only one who saw Reggie Bush throw a punch at one of the Texas d-backs after the whistle blew, and out of bounds, in the first quarter? Talk about a blown call...with the Side Judge standing right there. USC was lucky Bush didn't get flagged and tossed out of the game.
Would have loved to see a Three-Pete (nice signage at the game Pete Carroll fan) for the Trojans, but you gotta be happy for Texas - Great coach, great team, great game.

When that girl concluded her interview she said something like "thanks for a wonderful season...good luck "VINCE"...Heard that on KROQ this morning. Anyone catch it?

Thank you Bob. Well said. They play these games for a reason. Bad calls are a part of every sport.

Funny none of the USC people mention the apparent make up for the touchdown lateral.....that would have been Leinert's 2nd INT he threw that popped out when the players back hit the ground.....CLEARY under control. :p :argue:
I agree on the 4th and 2 call....WTF was the USC coach thinking...pin them deep and run more time off the clock. Although with the way Young was playing he probably would have ended up with 240yds rusihing instead of 200 :)

USC lost.....but we will fight on!:)
