[FLEA DIDDY]

I thought I would keep a running thread of on the build up of my sleekcraft tunnel hull. Here is alittle history I picked up the boat 6 months ago. I took it out 3 times in one week and tore it apart. I then got a wild hair to move the family to Az and then got caught up in work and had no time to work on it. I did manage to do a few things to it but it's mainly been in storage until today.

I am sure it will be even better restored, but there is just something truly cool about seeing that rough hull roaring by throwing a big ol' roost. It just says "raw power" like only old school boats can do.

Yesterday I went and picked the boat up from storage and today I put it on the stand by myself (not fun) I finished the cap and started to primer the top half of the hull and ran out of PRIMER!!!!! Anyways all the work is done on the top half ,time to flip it after I finish the primer, pics in a bit.

Well finished the primer and started the guide coat, ran out of black rattle can :mad: for the guide coat. Anyways here is the pics of the hull. It had a windsheild but I tossed it and filled the lip that it had, also capped the hull so I can run without a rubrail.

small world whats your paint code? That blue on my pump is a candy blue from House of kolors.
I think its called diamont rm or something in that nature. My friend matched it to my "fusion"coated guages. The color is very transparent.

It's a '76 Sleekcraft Aristocrat 21' work in progressNice! I haven't seen one with a v-bottom, The tops are the same but mine has a tunnel hull bottom. keep up the good work.

Well I have wet sanded/blocked out one side, only took 2 days lol. Anybody want to help/learn how to paint? I'll start you out blocking lol. Did I mention I hate wet sanding? :mad: Pics soon.........

So its comming along good.....When are we flipping it????????????????I'm not going to flip it. I got some tall floor stands to sit the hull on while I speed coat it. I got under there yesterday and looked at the hull and it's not near as bad as I thought. I have a hose that connects to my paint gun where the paint cup connects to the gun, Then you connect the cup to the other end of the gun, I can get a creeper and roll around under there and paint/speed coat it without paint dripping out the paint cup.

LOL, yeah, it was pretty rough. But the basics are covered, the rest is time & elbow grease.....

Well I just finished blocking out the rest of the hull, TIME TO PAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus I thought this time would never come. Looks like the weekend trip to havi is cancelled I would much rather spend the $$$ on paint than gas and beer. Hopefully I'll have some finished pics by sun. Anyone local want to stop by and watch feel free............. Pm me for directions.
