Went down to Windsor today to check things out for tomorrow and was surprised how low the water level is :frown: Looks to me to be around the 446 mark  Be careful out there this weekend, oh yeah, Windsor north looks funny now as they cleared all the salt cedar (no, not salt peter) brush off of the point so you can see the whole lake now :D NSF

Yes the water level is down at the ramps about 4 feet as of last weekend, Dont know why.....

They must be trying to raise Parker to a good four feet depth.
Some one should buy Badenochs and turn it into a while you wait one hour prop shop.
salt peter??

Very true...had to re-align the trailer at Cattail last Sunday then watch for the weeds while underway........saw 4 feet on the depth finder a good few feet past the end of the dock. Can't wait for next Sunday though! :rollside:

All I know is that you better stick close to the bouys going out of the north ramp (there is a pretty deep channel there) and you'll be OK. Windsor south for boats over 24" is NOT a god idea if you like your trailer!! "Props & Rocks dont mix" NSF

And I was under the impression the south side was safer. Thanks for the 'fo.

Would they lower the level of the lake if that would help find the missing boater from that accident almost 2 weeks ago?
Would a lower water level help the search at all?

After you get the boat off the trailer then yes it is, but the south ramp has a pretty big drop off and when the water is low like now anything bigger than 24 is not good. They even have a sign stating this but yet I watch as 30's try it and then come out with fenders all f--ed up. Watch it this weekend because the areas to back off the trailer are pretty narrow now with this low water level, it will be a cluster F--k as usual. NSF

Magic 34, I dont believe they are even searching anymore, after this long some poor boater will find him floating in the reeds. Also I have never heard of them lowering the level for a seach. NSF

Wow...thanks for the "heads-up"....we come out on Sunday for a week. Are they letting more out of Parker Dam, or cutting the flow out of Davis as well..?? Better check the flow numbers.....

Be careful on the southerly Windsor ramp. Our trailer fell off the end of the ramp last weeknd. We used the north ramp to load the boat without any problems.

All I really go by is what I see although they are saying that it is at 446.3 and thats pretty low. On the seach for the body, (lowering the lake) what good will that do? After so many days a body floats,? right. The level does not matter to the divers that look does it?? Somebody will find him this weekend I bet. NSF

I concur, I used to know one of the salvage divers there. He always said, "what goes down comes up" in about 4-5 days. I would assume that since it has taken so long the victum is either caught around something or way up in the back water reeds.
In all due respect, I plan on staying north of the sandbar or south of the island with my family.

Water was definaelty low last weekend, we found the end of the Windsor south ramp with the pontoon trailer, had to jump in and lift the trailer up as we pulled it out with the truck....no fun ended up having to go around to the north ramp to get the boat out of the water.....thank god is was only the pontoon trailer and not the new boat and trailer I would have $hit. Lesson learned.

Yes, Thank god. Because it would have been my fault too!!! :argue: :rollside: Then we would have been asked to leave by the ranger, our pic taken, then a thread about some jack-asses trying to launch and how no one wanted to help us because Chris was screaming and cursing at me.  De javu!!! :p

The cops on Mem. weekend said that the park actually starts at elevation 4.50 and on Mem. weekend the water level was at 4.50 so you actually had to have your feet in the water to drink a beer. I guess now we will be able to at least touch the sand before they throw the book at us. The low water is not all bad! :)

Since you're home doing nothing, wanna go by my house and trim the palms and rake the rocks? When you get done there, maybe swing up to Dan's and rip out that boginvilia from hell.

You've got no complaints, come on out to Mead or Powell if you want low water levels. Not that we don't have lots of lake, but when they are both around 100' low, well--------------

Be careful if you launch at Windsor South. This last trip (Mem Day), the second half of my crew (that bought Tremor Therapy) was launching right next to where I did on the ramp. I had already dropped the boat in and the wifey picked me up. We are idling by their boat and the driver is yelling to the pickup to just put it in 4WD (Duramax). Just thought the gravel had been deeper on that side, as the dually didn't have any trouble pulling the empty trailer out at all. Anyhoo, she puts it in 4L, and jumps right out.
Later, we meet in the channel and park. Driver of TT asks me "do you have a crow-bar?"
I laugh and asked "really?"
She says yes, I say no, but something similar (ha ha).
I ask why. Ends up the left front lower edge of the Stainless fender got hooked up on something (the end of the ramp?) and is now shoved into the left front tire. It had definite concrete gouges. Didn't get the step in front of the fender, though, or any lights.
Weird that mine (35' trailer) would have no probs, but theirs did.
Now I know to look for edge of ramp!
