NTL Daytona

There was a new Cobra 26 cat at Havasu last week end. Really nice looking boat, looks big for a 26.Did not get a chance to get a close look though. It sounded like they were having engine problems.Anybody else see it or have any info.

I saw that boat too at the sandbar, and I also saw it had motor problems. Where where you? I was by 3 DCB's(2 Mach26's and a 28 Extreme) and a 25' Daytona.
Here are some photos.

I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I thought this boat was bad ass looking on the water. Very cool lines!

Tell me, tell me- I want to know where the bottom came from. I think it looks cool! I'm not sure about the wing thing either, but overall I like it. I would like to see a shot at the entire front top- those air intakes are cool- what did the top deck lines look like?

At the RRX regatta,Todd(jokers wild)told Jim Nichols and myself an amazing story as to where the bottom for that particular boat came from...Said that he got the info from Kevin Spaise. Not trying to be covert but with all of the discontent that currently permeates this place I dont feel like adding to the controversy.I would love to know if its true or not cuz it kinda makes you look at a certain splashing controversy in a whole different light..who who who

Yep,
I was at the sandbar when HBjet took that particular pic. I agree, it looks really sweet on the water, but it was having some motor problems though.

I am not sure where you guys get your info as I watched this cat being bulit every 5 or 6 days. My best friend has dibs on the 2nd one which will be an cuddy/open bow. It's goin look awesome. As for the engine trouble, we GPS'd them at 101mph as they went from the bridge to Havasu Springs. I wish my boat ran that bad.Hot boat gave it top marks. Bob Teague built the motor. Not sure how much HP. It's a single carb 800HP. I think. My buddy wants to put the super-charged 500 HP. EFI. They said it sould do 90 MPH.This boat is the most awesome cat I have ever seen. I will get some picture of the interior. It's really trick. My buddy can't wait for his.

So stinger what do you think about Skaters?

stinger

I love skaters I think that they design a great bottom. they do really well in the races. Bob Teague has one called liquid metal

Stinger, I'm glad you're here. I just came back to post about the article in the sep 16th issue of Auto Week (ironicly, the story probes the possibility that Pontiac's Solstice concept car is a "splash" of King's original design Infiniti Ronin)and saw you beat me to the truth. It looks like your leaning on the plug for the Venom? http://www.autoweek.com/weekart/2002/0916/kingboat.jpg
BS accusations about splashing fly back and fourth around here like you wouldn't believe. Passing secretes around may create drama on the board but when false rumors hurt a company or persons rep, apologies are in order.
You and the companies you work for deserve credit for your original designs.
Keep up the good work!

Hey stinger..... welcome to the boards..... i was wondering if you had an opinion about the F-29 DCB is putting together... I would assume you have seen the plug..... what are your thoughts?

Charley: The F-29 from DCB is going to be a great boat like all the others Dave has built. the builder is Chuck Guy the same guy who worked with me on the Ultra 21,28 stealth and the 27 shadow. Chuck built the F-26 and is now on the F-29. So far its a bigger F-26 the bottom is new and will be refined until it is perfect like he did with the F-34. But as a designer I will not tell what a manufacture is doing until I have been given permission by the owner of the company. Did you like my sketch in hot boat of the F-series boats? The original is a 32"x60" color rendering of the F-34,28,26,24, Dave is a great guy and I enjoyed working with him. I also really enjoyed working with John West and Jeff Bohn. They are both good friends of mine. Right now I am at Eliminator working for Bob Leach. I love it there everyone is really friendly and very knowlegable about the work that they do.

 Hey Stinger, I'm glad that their are a few people that speak the truth. I was pleased to hear that you desighned the bottoms for all those boats. I had a Ultra 21. Great boat. 11 years worth of family fun. Had my 23 Cobra built last Xmas. Can't say enough about how Jeff has taken care of me. My buddy is waiting for the 2nd. Venom Cat. Can't wait to see what kind off power he will put in it. I know he has talked to Bob Teague. It should be awesome.
