My friend has a 31 Chevy 5 window with a 250 inline 6 in it. He's wanting to get a set of cast finned aluminum side covers and I thought I had seen a pair on a mercruiser once. I thought I would give you guys a try. The first couple pics show a good look at the stock side covers.

I found a Merc 165 (inline 6) motor local, but am trying to get a pic of the side of the engine where the covers are. I had one some years back, but don't recall if the side covers were finned or not.

I'm not positive if they are on the inline 6's or not either. Here's a picture of the car that gave us the idea. Its got an inline 4 chevy that had finned aluminum Mercuiser valve cover and side covers. After I saw it, i thought maybe the 6's had the same parts? Its not a great pic of the side covers, but you can get a bit of an idea what I am looking for if you squint just right :rollside:

BTW, that's me drinking the slurpee, and the builder/owner of the 31 chevy 5 window wearing the wife beater.

I had a 79 Glastron with a 165 HP Merc in it. Ran great. Dont remember any finned side covers.
Good luck.
Maybe on Ebay or a swap meet.
