hey if u guys give me shit i need it :argue: today i took my boat out and didn't adjust the rockers again havee not yet  i was going to today but decided to have fun again this is the out come. i think there is water in my oil but i did my first oil change today. i did not think i had to worry about water pressure with a bypass but if u look real close a the pics its a little milky moblie1 syn had 30 wt or could it just be from switching from reg oil to syn. im pist i spent $96.50 just on oil and filter but what was funny was i broke down a old sac and ask a guy for a tow he said he was just about out of gas then my buddy comes from over the hill and they say hey thats mikey whats up. then they have anuff gas to tow me to miller park they were heading to discover park oppsite ways but hey thanks guyshttp://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14626&stc=1 http://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14627&stc=1 http://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14628&stc=1

THats probablly just condensation. Mine does that sometimes. Check the dipstick for traces of water. If none there then you will be fine. Whats your operating temp? You might want to try to bump the temp up so you can boil off the condensation.....

why is the rocker off the valve? did you loosen it up and take it off? Also, why does the top of the retainer and valve look a little beat up? or is it just me seeing things? Did you check the geomtry of the valve train when those roller tipped rockers were installed?

If it were me, I wouldn't take it for chance that's it's "probably" condensation, I'd want to find out for sure. Have you rechecked the torque in the intake bolts? How about the water pressure coming in?

John, Before you go to digging too deep into your engine, fix the rocker arm that is off, change your oil and filter, retorque the intake manifold, and go run it again for a while with some temperature in it. Also check the tension on that rocker arm nut or replaced it with a new one so that it doesn't back off again.
When a cylinder is dead like that, it will suck water back into the engine. Then when that cylinder does not fire, it pushes the water on past the rings. This is what so many people get mixed up on and call it reversion. The rocker arm may very well be the only problem that you really have. If you have one of my bypass kits on your boat, call me, and I'll explain the temp deal to you. 316-794-8616

that's what i'd do, except also pull both the exhaust AND the intake pushrod for that cylinder, inspect both ends, and make sure the pushrods are still straight.

go and buy a set of poly lock rocker arm nuts and throw those cheap ones that came with the rockers away----they are nothing but trouble----and you don't need troubles when you're having fun

the reason that the rocker is off is because the push rod guide broke and hammered the top of the retainers if u look real close the valve clips one i missing its f**k up so i need to buy two more plus a valve guide and my psi on my intake at 5000 is at 40-50 not psi really sure but im thinking of running a second dump from the water inlet to the oil cooler and dump and leave the rest as is see if that will bump up the temp or put on another check valve to controll the water to the block but not for the oil cooler.

i m thinking that the rocker guide might have failed the break is pretty clean. http://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14630&stc=1

You are real lucky that it didn't drop that valve. The Boat Gods were with you on that one.

im glad i was in a 5 mph zone and tap tap first shutoff it sounded like the push rod was tapping on the valve cover

It does sound like your water pressure is high. I don't let mine run over 15 psi. I blew my intake gaskets once, and milked the oil pretty bad. A second dump, with a ball valve works well, so you can modulate pressure/ temp. You are so lucky you didn't drop that vavlve, you need to kiss something!, even the top of a beer bottle will do...

i was just thionking of run from the jet tee to oil cooler and dump the second one to the motor system with a control vavle then dump dont know if it would work need to control temp ?
