Planning on getting married next Summer and was looking for some ideas on locations. We would like to go away for a few days with family and friends and the boat of course and then have the wedding on a Saturday. Casual reception preferably at a house that we could rent. Lake Tahoe is one place any other suggestions would be great. Any big houses in Havasu that could handle a reception?

Paradise Point Resort, San Diego Bay! You can get married on your choice of Bayside lawns or beach. You can park your boat right outside your room on the bay.

...Or don't get married at all and save the divorce lawyer fees... buy a new boat. :D :D :D
Seriously... congrats on getting married. Personally, if I ever find someone that will marry me (that doesn't involve third-world countries and mail order), I'm going to Vegas and then throw a huge party somewhere else.

Wife and i were very pleased with our experience with the Jones estate in Orange Ca.. It's a very cool older "white picket fence" type house on a large lot, and they have experience handling weddings/receptions in house... good luck

If it turns out to be South Tahoe, I'd recommend the wedding chapel at Harvey's. They took very good care of us...

My wife and I were married at South Shore Tahoe then treated everyone that came to the buffet at the top of Harrah's. It worked out great, people were able to get the food they really wanted and nobody had to do any prep or clean up. 2nd marriage was a whole lot easier :D

normally i would agree with this one cause jamicia is freaking awesome but if you want to be smart and spend your money on something to remember have a small wedding maybe vegas and have a big reception somewhere on the river pick a place that offers a full bar and close to the water that way you can boat by the day and keep the party going all night without fockers asking you to keep it down. depending on the weekend you choice you have a few good options......also with the money you will save you can take her to maybe hawaii, cabo, or a cruise for 6-7 days.......i did a event similiar like this for a client about two years ago and they loved it.........they got to spend a lot of time with new and old friends and got away for a week afterwards

This is exactly what my fiance and I are doing. We decided on a resort up in Big Bear. It's right on the water, and I mean 5 feet from the waters edge. Sandy beach, private boat docks 15 feet away, outdoor BBQ and pool tables, jacuzzi, pool, etc. Every room has a view of the lake and if you want to spend the extra coin per night, you can stay in their suite that has a balcony and is also right on the water too. The after party takes place 50 feet from the wedding area in a big tent. Bar, DJ, dance floor, etc. Best part is that this is an all includive package deal which also includes a wedding planner that takes care of it all. The fiance and I looked around for awhile and her price still beats everyone elses, even if we did the wedding ourself. I can't remember the website but it's something like www.Lakearrowheadweddings.com or something similar. They have the same package on Lake Arrowhead (hence the website name) however it's about twice as much. We are heading back up there in August of this year because that's when we plan to get married next year. We did go up about a month ago to check out one of her weddings she was setting up at the same location and it's pretty amazing. Let me know if your interested and I can look for the contact info if you can't find it on the site.

Second marriages/weddings are easy. This is #2 for both of us so we're flying to Bali for two weeks to get hitched in January. She wouldn't go for getting married underwater, or jumping out of an airplane, or by an Elvis impersonator. I did talk her into a week dive trip in Truk (Chuuck) Lagoon on the way to Bali though.
Whatever money we can scrounge up after being gone 21 days, we'll probably throw a party for friends and family afterwards.
Good-luck with your wedding plans.

We got married in Tahoe, out of the pier. Timberlake or something like that??? Then rented out a pub for the wedding reception if you can call it that. Our intent was to have a big party after the fact and never did.
Congrats!!
