Yes I am... picking it up tomorrow night so I should be making passes at Casitas by Saturday afternoon! LOL Funny thing is we just finished building a blown injected 540, but then this opportunity came up so I figured two kick ass motors are better than one.

Greg I would love to go to Casitas on Sunday but it is very unlikely we will be ready by then. We will keep you posted and hopefully when it's done we can get a few of the Ventura County people together for breakfast and a blast around Casitas.

Picked up the new motor from T-bag on Friday night. Mike was a great guy to deal with and gave us a lot of good pointers. Originally we were going to detune the motor a little, but it ran so well in its current set-up that we have decided to run it just as it was in the River-rats video :crossx: . The only change we're going to make is putting a little taller gears in our boat than T-bag ran, he was running 22's spinning the motor to 8500, but in the interest of longevity we have decided to put 29's in our boat hopefully dropping the rpm's to around 7600-7700. We got it all polished up and I should have pictures up by this afternoon.

This thread is worthless without pics.
Kitties are dying everywhere, not that it is a bad thing. But still.

Does the blower have a mag case?
Doesn't look "aluminum"
Now that is so much nicer.
Thanks

Speedin' Ian

Yeah the blower is magnesium and the hat, intercooler and heads are all polished. If I found someone that wanted to trade an aluminum 1271 for our mag one I would... I'd give up the wieght savings for the bling factor

Sangerboy we will definately let you know when we are ready for a friendly "test and tune" out at Casitas.
The motor did run in the 7.40's and has run a best of 143mph, but that was in Wally's lighter Canyon. We aren't sure what to expect in our Cole, but I'm sure it will be a fun ride :) For now it will be a river toy, but we would like to run it through the lights once we get the set-up dialed in.
Like Cole Man said we should probably win a race before we declare ourselves the king of anything, although Wally did say "you just picked up a Tony Scarlata spanker" when picked up the motor. :rollside:

Hay Speedin,
Can you post some pics of your Cole from last year so I know what boat we are talking about? Just curious, thanks.
Sangster,
There should be a law at your house that one project must be finnished before a new may be purchased. Does this mean you will be selling the orange boat? Have a nice trip.

Just a thought about getting it "dialed in" Ian. I went and ran my boat at Ming in October and got in 5 runs. I learned more in thoes 5 runs than I did in the last 2 years playin at the river. Don't get me wrong, the river is awesome and I will continue to go, but at the track you will get it to come around much faster. Just my $.02

Thanks Billy, we can't wait to get out there and run it, last year was a little boring with no boat but hopefully this year we'll make up for lost time.
BGMAN203 we are really thinking about getting out to Ming this year, but first we want to make sure the set-up is close. I don't want to get out there unless I know I can stay in it for a 1/4 mile at 130+ and the boat will take a safe set. We did pick up a chue jacket and I have a set of ballistic shorts and a helmet so the safety gear is in place, plus Wally said he would come down to Ming and help us dial it in.
